Have you done Apple Care?
I 1000% ALWAYS get Apple Care!!!

I can not tell you how much it's saved my life. From iPhone's to iPad's, Watches and iMac's and laptops, no matter how well you keep it, intend to keep care of it, even if it sits on a desk, something will always die and need attention. I've saved thousands of dollars thanks to Apple Care.

having apple care saved my 16 pro max when selling. i got it replaced and sold for like 650-700 instead of a scratched screen for like 150....now i know i will have it for every device i can

This:
Generally, it comes down to how clumsy you are and whether you can easily pay out of pocket for a replacement or repair. Oh, and if you have kids, that may be a pretty big factor.

I’ve dropped all of my previous iPads once (each) — D’oh! I didn’t have AppleCare+. The iPad 2 and 6th generation iPad survived well enough. However, the M1 iPad Pro I had to replace, a $500 charge. So, AC+ would have been worthwhile then.

One more thing I’ll mention because it’s a common discussion… Don’t get AppleCare for ‘free’ battery replacements. Modern batteries — even if you’re a digital addict — have a more than sufficient (actual) lifespan. Decades ago, AppleCare was logical as batteries would legitimately be (truly) unusably aged in a few years. But you won’t get value now (PERIOD)

I do for my phones and vision pro. So at that point Apple Care One made sense to me since AC+ for the vision pro is a solid $20 a month vs 20 a month for 3 devices.
Agreed. AppleCare+ seems like a worthwhile gamble for the AVP. And, yes, AppleCare One is the same cost as the single device, Vision Pro only, price. So, yeah, now I have my iPad Pro and iPhone also covered.

Always bought AC/AC+ for my devices. Only had to use it twice in 20+ years but on both of those occasions the devices were replaced there and then without needing a return visit to collect a repair. My iPad Pro is my main personal complete device after my iPhone and a work companion. The cost of AC+ is less than the cost of disturbance to my daily workflow should it ever have a problem.

Just got an email saying that my iPad Pro M2 AC+ has expired…..(2 years)
Can this not be renewed…?
I thought they renewed automatically unless cancelled.
When you look at the devices costs, it now only lists the current M4, M5 iPad Pros.

Ever since Apple introduced Apple Care One - I think they're allowing older devices to qualify for AppleCare+ again. Probably why you got that notice - I know we did on a lot of our stuff too.

Ah you are correct, if I select get coverage on the AC page it says my device is eligible (monthly payments only). It’s strange how I didn’t get a reminder to renew though.

Not sure whether to bother with it, as it’s more expensive than my Studio plan…my iPad Pro never leaves the house, so it’s a bit overkill for home use only… 😬

If you got the 2-year AC+, that never renews automatically.

However, you get the option to get month-to-month AC+ within something like 30 days of the original AC+ coverage expiring.

Now, there should also be an option to add it to AppleCare One instead of a single device-only plan.

How much do you value your M2 iPad Pro? I opted to keep AC+ on my M1 iPads because of the LCD/Mini-LED display (OLED PWM migraines) and physical SIM card slot.

I'm a big fan of AppleCare. All my Macs, iPads, Phones, Watches have it. Only thing I haven't really AppleCare'ed is my AirPods. - tho it's really cheap to do so.

I have always carried it on my MBP's and iPhones better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

I have never had apple care on any device.
When I recently purchased a device from apple the rep was super set on explaining the benefits of Apple Card, I think they might receive some type of incentive to sign customers up.

All of my devices have a case and screen protector. Im super careful with them. Of course I've dropped many iPhones and iPads but luckily have never had an issue, I assume due to luck and the case/screen protector combo. Plenty of broken glass screen protectors but never a broken screen, thank goodness.

Doing some research, it is actually cheaper for a years AC+ than a battery replacement (which is free with AC), so food for thought…. 🤔

I understand things are different in North Amerikorea but for much of the world consumer law covers us for device failures. In Australia consumer law dictates that a device should last "as long as a reasonable consumer would expect it to" Apple seems to honour repairs up to 3 - 4 years if it is device failure or looks like a manufacturing fault.
Dropped or accidental damage is normally able to be claimed under house insurance. This makes Apple Care redundant or even scammy

My M1 iPad Pro is 5 years old. I haven't checked battery health but I'm sure it's still above 80%. iPad batteries don't seem to degrade as quickly as iPhone's. Honestly, by the time the battery needs to be replaced, I reckon the monthly/yearly AC+ subscription would've far exceeded the battery replacement cost.

With that said, since iPad battery replacement tends to be a full device replacement, having AC+ makes it easier to actually get service. I've seen reports of battery replacement being denied due to wear and tear on the iPad. Also, in case of vintage status, I recall seeing a clause in the AC+ agreement that in case they don't have the exact same model available for replacement, they have to replace it with a similar model.

I must have been too quick off the mark…
My iPad now shows the option to renew in settings… 😁
I think I will renew, don’t want to tempt fate (especially the way product order/delivery delays are going).
