Cool. I’m in the US so it should be fine. It took them a year to refund you haha?
😂. No I forgot about it, and Apple sent out mass emails to customers reminding them of their eligibility to receive a refund from unused AppleCare+. It wasn’t much but it was better than nothing.

Thanks for all the help everyone. My time was ticking, I was at day 59 and needed to make a choice. I purchased the 2 year option and now I have peace of mind I guess haha. Glad to know that I can get a prorated refund if I upgrade before 2 years. Really no money is “wasted” then.

Oh cool thanks! So I bought an Apple Silicone case with my iPhone same day. This would be extended to a 2 year warranty as well?
No, @mansplains was a bit over-exuberant in their description. Only "accessories contained inside the original packaging of your Covered Device" are covered under AC+ for iPhone. So basically, the charger cord.

Got it! Well now that I have Apple Care +, I may be tempted to use the phone naked more often haha…

Apple has replaced cases for me (the awesome peeling silicone) well after limited warranty, perhaps they were being nice 🤷‍♂️

If you review the terms for iPads, I know you can get coverage for smart/magic keyboards. May not extend to iPhones.

AppleCare+ worth the money
Regardless if you have your iPhone in a case or bareback
AppleCare plus covers technical problems as well
Read the coverage so that you know exactly what’s covered

The OP already bought it, but I’d add I approve the decision, especially on a very expensive iPhone (I wouldn’t buy it for an SE). I’m not entirely sure if outside US they will reimburse the remaining part of the AppleCare+ if purchased in a single solution. It used to be that way, but after the monthly payment introduction I’m not sure anymore 🤔

Do Americans not have home insurance? Whenever our devices break we just claim on the same policy that covers all of our home contents.

It’s waste of money. I have a 2.5 K deductible on my home insurance policy, that’s saves me 1500 bucks a year on premiums. I have seen insurance companies jack up policy prices if you have frequent claims. There are no free lunches. Good luck getting the home insurance policy cover theft or accidents away on travels.

The first time I bought Apple Care+ was for my iPad Air 4, because I saw a lot of posts about iPad “bendgate”. But nothing happened in those two years, and I got a new battery in the very last month of the coverage. This year I bought AC+ for my new iPhone 16. Let's see what will happen in these two years and then decide if it is worthy for another two years.
