Apple CarPlay Gains More EV Charging Info Thanks to Integration With ChargePoint

This is nice because the Bolt charging integration from GM leaves much to be desired.

Actual mapping and range estimates and charge arrival percentages would be great, but I doubt chargepoint does that.
Tesla’s system is the benchmark. It’s gloriously fantastic.

Yes i doubt its integrated. If they want EVs to succeed all companies must make long distance traveling and charging seemless. Your driving speed, terrain, should automatically calculate your range and next charging stop. You should not have to calculate distance in an app, and seach for charge locations manually, or use apps like abrp. It should be done by the car. Tesla has been the only one to meld everything together because they want to succeed, unlike the tepid response from Chevy, Nissan, BMW. And i'm not tesla fan boy I want all EVs to succeed, heck I'd love to buy a rivian some day.

My phone's updated to iOS 14 a long while ago with ChargePoint app installed but never seen the feature. I guess the ChargePoint app needs to be updated to the latest one as well?

Do most EVs support CarPlay/android auto? My only experience is with Tesla and they use their own infotainment system. Rivian is another company that comes to mind that is very exciting. I don't think they will support CarPlay. I guess my question is, how many EVs are using CarPlay? Bolt, Leaf?

Would love to see something like UK's ZapMap integrated into CarPlay. As well as providing data on all EV charging points regardless of who owned them, CarPlay could also feed back into ZapMap's database to improve its accuracy.

Noticed this last night. Its a great start. Would love to see Electrify America, EVgo, and PlugShare follow suit. CarPlay is getting super useful. Just integrated my garage door into HomeKit and now when I drive up, I get a control on the screen to open my garage. Great stuff.

PlugShare integration would be great. It covers ALL the companies, not just ChargePoint. In my area, Electrify America and EvGO are the two most popular fast charger networks.
