Of course I think all Apple products are expensive but I always paid for whatever I bought without giving it too much thought, sometimes buying the latest model even tho there was still plenty of life left in what I already had. Until I got the iPad Pro Case I ordered, what an outragious joke $69 is for that little bit of material! However I had already bought an offbrand case (that had a front and back) and even tho it said it was for the IPP, it covered up some things. Soooo, I'm keeping that outragious thing, but I keep muttering to myself every time I touch it. Ok, that rant makes me feel better!

Those cases are ridiculously expensive--agreed. There are just-as-good knockoffs all over Amazon that I would look at first in case I want to ever get a case for my Pro.

Agreed, as long as it protects the camera bulge on the back and doesnt cover up the left side keyboard connection, it doesnt matter the brand when you are getting a more justified price.

It's not just that the back case is $69, it's that you also have to buy the Smart Cover for an additional $49. That's $118, when every previous iPad offered a smart case which covered the front and back for $79(which was bad enough of a rip off). Yes I understand that no one forces anyone to purchase these Apple branded accessories, but that doesn't change the fact that they are basically mocking their customers loyalty at this point.

If not mocking, at minimum extorting, if one insists on buying Apple-branded products.

I agree with you. The IPP case and cover is over priced but I found it works well. My rationale is that I would rather curse once when I buy an item than every time I use the item!

Agreed. I've wasted too much time trying cheaper cases and returning them, or just giving up on them after a few months and trying something else. I have a stack of discarded cheapies at home. I've thrown many more away.

You know what? Cheap costs more.

OTOH, pay Apple once and you're done. You get a quality product that works. Get on with life.

Purchase 2nd hand. Just picked up my 12.9 Smart Keyboard for $55 shipped to my house. Looks brand new! Now just need to get the case for below $30 and a pencil below $55 - maybe a cover also.

I just wish they came in more colors.

I dont mind paying the price for them as they will hold up for the life of the device and longer in many scenarios but the color choices for the 12.9 Pro are terrible.

The Apple silicon case for the iPad Pro 12.9 did not hold up so well for me. The edges started cracking within ~3 months. At the 1 year mark it finally started falling apart. I'm still looking for a new 3rd party case. The Apple branded silicon case for my original iPad on the other hand was very robust even after 3 years. I'm not sure I'd get another Apple branded one for a 12.9 though. (Of course, my silicon case could be the exception rather than the rule here, but I'm not spending the $$ for another Apple branded silicon case for the 12.9.)

I have had the Apple silicon case on my iPad Pro for over a year now and it has stood up well. No cracks or tears.

There are plenty of really good case manufacturers out there, so why the need to buy the Apple branded one? Yes, there is plenty of junk there, but there are companies out there that make really good quality products such as Otterbox, Spigen, Incase, etc.

I am using the Apple Silicone Case for my iPad Pro 12.9. The iPad Pro seems protected except for the side where the smart connector is. Are you guys concerned about it with your case or not bothered?
