I don't use skins, i don't use cases, my iPad is the same color and condition it was on release day. I prefer au natural. I try not be ocd with my apple gear. I can understand just a skin, or just a case, but why both?

Oh boy... I have never checked it out and am getting anxious. I have the full invisibleSHIELD and the case on. Keeping my fingers crossed for when I get it back tomorrow.

The people with the blue stains are using some kind of adhesive skin, right? The thread is confusing because some of the posts seem to be blaming it on the Apple case (I assume you all mean the black one). I have a day-one Ipad wifi and official case. It's rarely out of the case, and is exposed to some different humidities. No staining here.

Is it the skin itself that's stained, or the iPad? I've never used those skin things so I don't quite get what's going on.

I'm confused. Just lederes an iPad and an Apple Case with it. This scares me.

What's the verdict? Apple Case or not? Or is it the invisibleSHIELD and similar products causing Tvis issue?

I've always used both a skin and case for all of my devices. The skin protects from tiny scratches that can come from stuff getting inside the case and between the cracks. Also it'll protect from the actual case scratching the device. And a case itself, well, that's self explanatory.

Maybe heat? If the iPad was to get too hot it might melt the case a little bit.

I've always used my iPad indoors and air conditioned environments, and I don't think I've ever done anything to cause the iPad to heat up...?

What?

I believe it to be a reaction between the dye in the microfiber and the bestskins/invisibleSHIELD/wrapsol.

I have a Wrapsol skin on the back of mine and also used the Apple Case. Yep, it is turning blue. This is definitely just from having a skin and the Apple Case.
If you notice, the blue is showing up on outlines of where there is raised areas in the apple case. If you look closely at the inside of the case and the marks being made you can see. No idea why it happens. From what I can see, it hasn't seeped onto the iPad itself and it better now.

I am debating if I should take it off or not, because I don't want the iPad itself to get blue. However, I still use the iPad without the case at times and I don't want it to get scratched.

Yeah it's just from the spots that are pressing the hardest on the skin. Like the inside flap and also the outside tuck flap. Someone else had said they he had peeled off the skin and his iPad was not stained. I'd think it'd be pretty hard to stain brushed aluminum, no?

This.

It's a common issue with Invisibleshield Skins, as well. It happened to mine within a few weeks of putting my skin on and the iPad in its case. It might have happened sooner, but I hadn't taken it out for some time.

Regardless, it's not something that happened with the iPad itself, only the screen protector, which is made of a pourous material, unlike the actual physical shell of the iPad.

People are "scared" and "worried" over this? What are the apocalyptic ramifications of a little discoloration? So maybe you'll get $25 less when you sell it? Till then, put it back in the case and stop staring at it. Problem solved.

Serves you right for putting a skin on it AND using a case. Does it REALLY need so much protection? It's not a baby. It's a fancy toy.

I'm more annoyed at the fact that it's discolored. I contacted ZAGG and they basically said "sorry, you can buy a new one with this 30% off coupon". Both the front and the back of the ZAGG skins are stained and it's definitely noticeable.

But really, why say "Serves you right for putting a skin on it AND using a case. Does it REALLY need so much protection? It's not a baby. It's a fancy toy."??? That's like me wishing that your car gets keyed the day after you buy it. It's a cosmetic wound to your purchase, but still not something that you wanted. If I wanted blue stains on my iPad, I would've ordered it that way.

I had this problem with my iPhone. I had the zagg shield on the back, then I put a skin red case on, the whole of the zagg wield went pink! I just removed the shield!
