Tim needs to work on the messed up product line and release a new MacMini, MacPro, Apple Display and remove these nasty bumps from iPhones and iPads. He is competing with the Kardashians for being in your face all the time for all the wrong reasons. Tim go back to the office, put your head DOWN and work hard on Apple products, you are the CEO of Apple not Kim Kardashian. Apple needs a new CEO asap that cares obsessively about Apple products like Steve used to care. Tim not only doesn't care but he also doesn't have a clue since he is an accountant. He needs to take orders from a real CEO and go back in making sure products are delivered on time, that's the only thing he knows how to do. Please find a new CEO for Apple.

Pathetic Tim. Keep smiling because you like desperate house wife asking people to donate for your cause. You got money...so donate for your cause.

You get two VIP passes to a keynote! Might even be one where they launch something new, that is priceless!!

For the fourth year in a row, Apple CEO Tim Cook is participating in a charity auction through CharityBuzz, offering whoever bids the most the chance to eat lunch with him at Apple's headquarters in Cupertino. As with last year's auction, Cook is also offering tickets to an unspecified Apple keynote event.

Two people will be able to attend the lunch meeting with Cook, with the experience set to last for approximately one hour. Lunch is included in the price of the auction, but travel and accommodations are not. The offer expires on May 5, 2017, and will be scheduled at a "mutually agreed upon date."

With the expiration date set to happen in May of 2017 and the second Apple campus set to be finished in late 2016, there's a chance the auction winner could be invited to the second Apple Campus, though the auction makes no mention of this.

The auction, which will last until May 5, has an estimated value of $100,000, but bids have already reached $110,000. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human rights, a charity that aims to achieve a "just and peaceful world by partnering with human rights leaders, teaching social justice and advancing corporate responsibility." Tim Cook has supported the RFK Center for several years running and was recently elected to the board of directors.

In 2015, Cook's charity lunch raised $200,000, while the 2014 auction brought in $330,001 and the 2013 auction brought in $610,000.

Perhaps the Samsung CEO might drop by for some 'inspiration' and 'sharing' of ideas ;-)

If I had $200K to give to a charity, I would just go ahead and do it, and skip the lunch with Tim Cook.

I’d probably enjoy lunch better with a Genius from an Apple Store. I bet they have much better stories to tell about all the stupidity they have to deal with… both from customers and from management
If I had the $200K to donate, I'd probably take the lunch. On the other hand, if I was in the position to casually donate $200K, I might be less star-struck.

I did once donate $2K for a chance to meet Idina Menzel, Anthony Rapp, and LaChanze backstage after a Broadway show. I accidentally charged the donation to a friend's credit card, but that's another story.

Color me intrigued...How did your friend take that charge? lol

It wasn't until later that night when I pulled out my receipt to show her that I realized the mistake. We had split the check at lunch that day and our cards looked similar. I picked up her card and she picked up mine.

I called the charity on Monday and they reversed the charge from her card, and then charged mine.

Interesting that three years ago he was worth $600 000 and last year lunch went for $200 000.

His lunch stocks are dropping fast

It's for charity. There's really no need for snarkiness.

If I had tons of money, I'd totally be interested. The money will be going to a good cause, and it'd be an interesting lunch!
So what. If charity was that important to me I’d have given up the 100K long before the prospect of lunch with anybody came along.

You are right, he has no time for lunch.

It's for charity; some rich folks donate MILLIONS of dollars every year to charity at fancy galas and fund raisers, how is that any different?

Because this is a very public figure, offering the chance. If I was rich, I could donate (and write off) a donation to the WWF, happens all the time. But this is being touted as a lunch with Tim Cook, like it's an opportunity anyone could have, IF you donate, oh and if you're RICH.

I'm tired of stating this so read my other responses, but Tim could have gone the OMAZE route, giving everyone the opportunity to win.

Given your last few posts, I would imagine he won't do that, because he doesn't want someone like you to win.

Could've could've could've. Yet, he's doing and you're talking.
I work in non-profit, and I am also on the board for one non profit and a school district. Events are meant to raise awareness of a capital campaign. $100K with Tim Cook means that the fundraiser will be on every newspaper (and Macrumors) as news, and it becomes an important event.
It means free advertisement, most didn't even know about the RFK foundation before. Now they do.
The fact that Apple's CEO is willing to do that, means that he somewhat believes in the cause, and some people will learn about what the foundation is all about. It's a very important endorsement.

If you donate the $100K you're also knowledgeable enough to know that the fact that someone pays $100K to have lunch with a public figure raises awareness. It's not just about the money.

$100,000 to meet someone? Even if you are super rich you must be stupid to accept this.

The only way I see it is if you were going to donate to charity the $100k any way, you get a free meeting.

I wonder how these meetings go, two strangers talking to each other for an hour. Cook not giving away any secrets, other guy has no secrets to share.

You should be knowledgeable enough to know charity isn’t about what you can get out of it too. My point still stands.
