exactly. If 64gb is enough for you then 64gb is a good experience. If 64gb isn’t enough for you, good news, you can choose to buy 256gb or 512gb.
Tell that to an inexperienced user who doesn’t know a MB from a GB and suddenly find they have no room for their precious baby photos and videos. It’s greed pure and simple and people need to stop being apologists to it. It’s a damned expensive phone any which way you look at it and memory is pennies on the dollar. We need a better offering for everyone.

I am perfectly OK with people arguing about Apple 's App Store monopoly status, but I think people needs to provide better argument. Because so far all of them are nonsense .

I don't believe Tim at all when he says Apple tries to keep prices as low as possible. I firmly believe they are set at the level that he thinks maximizes profit, not a dollar more or less.

No... products are priced to achieve Apple's 38% GPM and resulting 21% NPM, necessary to support their operations and return a reasonable bottom line profit.

Well, they include cameras that can record 4K footage. This takes a considerable amount of space. They can’t justify 64GB in those circumstances and call it an acceptable customer experience.

It is when you equate the amount of space used to capture 4K footage, store songs and pictures, apps, books, podcasts ....... it’s ridiculously tiny when memory is pennies on the dollar.

In 2019 a fully empty $1099 "Pro" phone can record 2 hours of highest quality footage before running out of space

iPhone 11 Pro 256GB + Apple Care = 1540 Euro (1700 USD). I can't believe it's so low, I'm tempted to buy two of them, just because they are so cheap!! /s

COPENHAGEN’s LORD MAYOR WOULD STILL WELCOME APPLE STORE, BUT REMAINS PUZZLED WHY HE HASN’T YET HEARD FROM APPLE, INC IN THIS MATTER

Since we’re talking EU and therefore also Denmark 🇩🇰... could anyone please explain to me why there is still no APPLE STORE in the capital of Denmark!?

I’ve been in direct contact to Lord Mayor of Copenhagen (Mr. Frank Jensen) and he would be happy to welcome an APPLE STORE in buzzing and continuously growing Copenhagen, but be hasn’t yet been contacted by anyone from Apple, Inc ... and like me he doesn’t really understand why!?!

Anyone knowing more in this matter?

Cheerio,
Henrik

Well, Apple offers your choice of 64, 256 or 512GB, plus you can get / use iCloud storage to as high a level as you like. For many many people, the 64GB is sufficient for what they need and do with their iPhone. So they make THEIR DECISION to purchase the base phone because it does what they need it to do. If they find they need more memory, they will use iCloud or some other cloud based storage, download to their computer, or, realizing they actually needed more, will consider purchasing another or their next phone with more memory.

As for you, Please, YOU can take the responsibility of deciding what memory level you "need" and then decide on how many "pennies" you're going to spend for it. If you're doing the whole pro photographer / videographer bit and you want all onboard storage, then YOU need much more than the base, you need the 256 or 512GB and maybe even the iCloud storage at 1TB too. And Apple offers all of that.

If the issues of how much memory and how many pennies you're willing to spend collide, MAKE A DECISION and then act on it. I get you want Apple to offer 256GB in the base config along with the base price. But it isn't, and it won't be (because 256GB is probably WAY too much for most people) and Apple wants multiple price points for its products. Maybe you can find a telecom carrier who will offer a discount on the configuration you need, or you can trade in your current phone to cover the difference.

But, IMO, whining about Apple's price points and memory configurations just makes one sound cheap and entitled. It is what it is, and YOU get to choose what you want to do. Apple is not forcing you to do anything, including buying their products.

I'm fine that Tim is at the helm, and I appreciate the difficult challenge he has had to take over the reigns from one of the most industry changing CEO's we've ever seen and try to build the company.

But his interviews are dead boring, they are the same topics over and over. I miss the battles Steve J would have, fighting Adobe Flash, fighting Google, talking about design, talking about simplicity etc.

I'm thankful for Tim - just miss a designer and person who was obsessed with usability and customer experience being at the helm.
