That they sold 70,000 and even much more is the impressive part.So they had to sell about 70 000 iPhones just to pay for this 🥴
Oh, I totally agree. i didn't mean to imply that modern westerners would somehow realize what's happening and demand justice. haha. The elite have engineered an uneducated, complacent populace that will experience the fall of western civilization via podcast while sitting in their giant SUVs in a Starbucks drive-thru.Actually they will lay down. Difference is we live in the softest time in human history with people walking around with these mini computers in their pockets that get high speed internet and with a click of a button they can have food delivered to them and even with a push of a button they can have a vehicle show up to drive them were they please. And then they get home and put on the magic streaming device to catch up on Season 2 of Squid Game while looking up when Coachella presale goes live.
People in the West are not the badass ancestors you are alluding to that are going to cause some giant uprising. Too busy getting likes on tiktok. They are all beneficiaries of the system itself since they get to buy all of this stuff dirt cheap. If anyone has a bone to pick it's the people who make all of this stuff for dirt cheap in factories that are jumping off buildings that allow everyone to get these all these goods for reasonable costs.
I don’t know what you’re all talking about, everything is sunny and rosy and will continue to be fine forever and ever. Keep smiling people.Actually they will lay down. Ignoring the political portion of your post because this isn't in the politics forum, but that graphic isn't true. That’s painting it with a really broad brush though. The view from the comfy couch in the consumer culture you describe, values purchasing toys over all else in life, is typical of a fat middle class. But as consumerism has become a machine to hoover up every last dime of their $, it leeched off, shrunk & impoverished that middle, creating a LOT of losers for every winner. All your attention is supposed to be on the winners & dreaming about being them, but eventually everyone notices the conveyor belt under their feet. You’re not in the winners line, you’re in long line into the meat grinder, where you lose everything you & your parents ever worked for, and then your life, all to feed the winners latest get-rich-quick scheme in healthcare/real estate/immigration/ego tripping/etc. Revolutions never require everyone, or even a majority of a nation to agree to them. If even 5-10% of a population this big with this much poverty is ready for a change, it only takes a handful of Luigis appearing to organize & everyone’s stabbing their preferred Caesar. The west uses religion to pacify the masses, and they have now created the Army Of God and are praying for war. Revolutions are entirely possible, very probably likely.
In the middle of this, the worlds richest spoiled 14yo boy thought it’d be a good idea to insert himself in geopolitical pot-stirring & paint a huge target on his back, and the CEOs of these companies thought it’d look great to add themselves to this list. Good job Tim.
I don’t know what you’re all talking about, everything is sunny and rosy and will continue to be fine forever and ever. Keep smiling people.
I don't think we have to hate it to see it as a marketing innovation and a technical iteration...I know the vast majority of of people here hate it, but the Apple Vision Pro is a pinnacle of innovation. The eye tracking & gestures based functionality is magnificent. 👍🏻 Those of you that think it’s impossible to earn as much as Tim Cook (who is a pauper to Mr Musk), try and take any company you head to an almost 4 Trillion market cap this past year and do that yourself.
Those posts don’t ever actually relate to the truth. When you dislike someone as much as the dislike Cook, it’s made personal, where facts aren’t actually relevant and it’s more about the storyline they are trying to portray. Say something long enough and people might start to believe it, as their followers clearly do as well.Ignoring the political portion of your post because this isn't in the politics forum, but that graphic isn't true.

You have your terms mixed up. The technical innovation in AVP is the integration of unique software and the class leading hardware. It’s never one thing.I don't think we have to hate it to see it as a marketing innovation and a technical iteration...
...like most of Apple's most successful products.
I said exactly what I mean. You have your terms mixed up. The technical innovation in AVP is the integration of unique software and the class leading hardware. It’s never one thing.
Where do you want to be at the end of this conversation?Just on repeat like a record.....
Can you explain what you mean by Apple having Marketing Innovation then please? Because that makes no sense at all. I don't intend to be mean, but what are you actually talking about? Dignify us with something other than Word Salad please.I said exactly what I mean.
Just like someone who refuses to add substance to the conversation . All you've said in response to doctors, sports persons, celebrities etc make that sort of money. You say, "Most of these professions don't make that kind of money, not even close...." And you're flat out wrong. There is simply no basis for what you said.Just on repeat like a record.....
It'd be nice to be informed with facts, eh? But it ain't com'n it seems.Where do you want to be at the end of this conversation?
So you're saying it's a piece of cake to run a multi-trillion dollar company? Got it.
Okay. Now don’t take this the wrong way, but you’re not making any sense.Again, you found a few outliers, the MAJORITY DO NOT COME CLOSE TO THAT, you can keep thinking you're right 🙄
Where is your context? All you’ve said is he’s not earned that much. That’s it. No context. Is that really what you think I said? Maybe "reading for context" IS NOT a redundant statement for everyone.
Sure many are sportspeople and celebrities. However, mentioned were Doctors. Here are 2.
Patrick Soon Shiong $11.5B
Thomas Fearn Frist Jr. $9.6B
Now a person who was trying to add to a discussion would say how they made their wealth. As usual, no content. How did they make their wealth?fwiw, these two certainly do not make their wealth from being strictly physicians.
It doesn’t come through here. You know what they say about sarcasm…Sometimes when I really want to sound important, and sound knowledgeable, I find using bold font, italics, sometimes even capital letters really makes my point. It’s extra important because I often don’t really have a point, but I just love the sound of my voice, as it were. I am, after all, always right. My opinions, after all, are truly the only ones that matter.
That’s a good point. I would love world peace and equal wealth. As an adult I understand that the world doesn’t work that way, and accept that Cook is probably the lowest earning CEO's in a multi trillion dollar company. But hey, I’m not on here to hate on people. I’ll leave that to others. Just glad that as a billionaire in a country that just seems to hate itself, he gives away so much to charity. On the other hand; a bunch of grown people arguing whether or not a single person deserves to have billions and billions stashed away in the bank, whilst much of the worlds population is in extreme poverty, including within the very country said person is a billionaire in, is really the stuff of dreams. What a world to live in.
All nice and well, but comparing Europe with the USA, we seem to be less corrupt 😉Hmmm. Okay. European businesses seem to think it is.
From the European Union‘s own website.
- Corruption is estimated to cost the European Union between EUR 179 billion and EUR 990 billion per year, amounting to up to 6% of its GDP.
- 70% of Europeans believe that corruption is widespread in their countries - an increase of 2 points compared to 2022 (2023 Corruption Eurobarometer Survey).
- 35% of EU businesses consider corruption to be a problem in doing business, (2023 Eurobarometer survey: Business’ attitudes towards corruption).
- 59% of EU business agree with the statement that bribery and the use of connections is often the easiest way to obtain certain public services, (2023 Eurobarometer survey: Business’ attitudes towards corruption).
I agree. The thing the EU have going for it is that they investigate their corruption. The other lot are accused of corruption if they investigate corruption. Go figure. All nice and well, but comparing Europe with the USA, we seem to be less corrupt 😉
Corruption Index - Countries - List

They're businessmen, they own large businesses. It's like saying Elon is the richest man because he's a horrible programmerNow a person who was trying to add to a discussion would say how they made their wealth. As usual, no content. How did they make their wealth?
Sorry. I’ll play your game. Yes they did. I don’t need to give facts, as facts don’t provide the real story. They made it all through being strictly physicians. 🙄
What businesses? They're businessmen, they own large businesses. It's like saying Elon is the richest man because he's a horrible programmer
