I’m not sure if there’s more hate for Cook, or hate for people who don’t hate Cook.
Not even close. There are at least a few dozen people on these MacRumors boards alone who hate Cook. How many non-Cook-hater haters are there? Two? Three?

On the other hand, there are tens of millions who love what Cook has done, so they far outnumber both the Cook haters and the non-Cook-hater haters! So there’s that...

Ok. I don’t think it’s worth this much effort discussing TC salary. You seem fixated on defending it. I’m happy that he makes millions. He earned them.
It’s less a matter of defending it and more just educating people how it is he’s actually earned it. Not everyone understands why he deserves his compensation like you and I do.

Most of those tens of millions wouldn’t recognize his name nor did they recognize his face at the Golden Globes.

This is a great post.

To Me, it doesn’t sound like you did anything wrong, actually you seem a lot smarter than the ‘average house buyer’. You’re probably an extreme minority in your situation. You invested in Apple and essentially it paid off for you ‘long-term’ by affording you a house. Think about it for a minute, how many homebuyers would be in your situation where they use company stock/portfolio to pay for a house? I doubt that many, considering the majority have to divulge into their savings in order to put money down for a home. I had stock, sold it a while ago, I wish I would’ve kept it in retrospect.

But what we do know, Apple has the potential to make a lot of money for those who understand the market and went to invest.

You have a point, and thank you!

Can't believe Apple let Angela walk away as she was guaranteed to be the next CEO. All down to Eddy now.
You’re kidding, right? 🙄

Ahrendts was let go (fired). She was never a candidate to be the next CEO; she had trouble just trying to handle retail. And Eddy Cue is no more CEO material than was that software guy who screwed up Apple Maps.

Jeff Williams is the heir apparent, and has been for a decade. But he’s almost the same age as Cook. If Cook doesn’t retire for another two or three decades, they’ll have to find another CEO in waiting. Sometimes the backup QB spends his career on the bench :( But you better have one, just in case.
