So. When can we expect the invites for the event where Tim Cook will announce the date for the event where they will announce the date when you will be able to pre-order a new iPhone and thus get a date for shipping? Or will they host an event for that?

That bulb in that gray trouser certainly to leads to excitement, but I observe a replication effect.
We could as well replay the last keynote.
Same phrases, same intonation, same form factor, same characters. All they actually say is "we want to emulate Steve, but we can't.
But we market ourselves into a way to rip you off anyway..."

This is right up there with folks that track UPS or FEDEX planes flying in from China with their shiny new phone that makes calls and connects to the internet.

Meanwhile - new phone?

This may sound really nit picky, but writers here, and at other Apple news/rumor sites, need to work on their grammar. "There's plenty of reasons that Cook could be in Austin..." should be "There are plenty of reasons...". I think good grammar is important. I'm not perfect, but I try to write and speak properly. I wonder if Tim Cook feels uncomfortable that he has stalkers watching all of his travel activity. Is privacy not allowed if you're a tech CEO? This same thing used to happen with Steve Jobs, and it's creepy.

Reminds me of the film Austin Powers. Perhaps to announce something related?

I just happened to stop by my local Apple store this afternoon and they told me I missed Ti. Cook by 10 minutes!

Meh, Austin will be fine tomorrow. Harvey’s not gonna plow inland like most tropical cyclones do.

I would pass Texas up as a site....too many of these people voted for Trump and that shows bad judgement at best...I would not want anyone who voted for him to work for my company.

this is different, see wunderground.com it is a real 5 day mess, areal tragedy for Texas
I’m a meteorology major. I’m very well-acquainted with what southern and eastern Texas can expect from Harvey. It’s horrific, but Austin should be spared the worst by far (as Rockport and Houston and their surrounding areas are seeing).

I am looking forward to find out what the new connector will be like to make your "new" chargers and other cables obsolete; and then there will be the dongle required if you want to connect it to your "new" MacBook Pro, not to mention all this giddiness will set you back a cool grand before your new chargers and dongles. Mac, gotta love their plan, unless you're a consumer.

I like the current keynotes better than the keynotes of the past, however, everybody has their own opinions (and are entitled to same)
