Apple CEO Tim Cook has been invited to an event for tech leaders at the White House today in the newly renovated Rose Garden, according to The Hill.

Cook is among more than two dozen technology executives invited to the White House by President Donald Trump for the first event to be held on the redesigned Rose Garden patio. The dinner will follow a separate White House presentation on artificial intelligence hosted by First Lady Melania Trump.

Other leaders from across Silicon Valley have also been invited, including Meta's Mark Zuckerberg, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Google co-founders and executives Sergey Brin and Sundar Pichai, Oracle CEO Safra Catz, and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. Other notable attendees include David Limp of Blue Origin, Sanjay Mehrotra of Micron Technology, Greg Brockman of OpenAI, Palantir CTO Shyam Sankar, and Alexandr Wang, Meta's chief AI officer and founder of Scale AI.

Today's event will mark Cook's latest appearance at the White House, following his controversial visit in August, when he presented Trump with a gold-and-glass commemorative plaque alongside Apple's announcement of major new U.S. manufacturing investments.

Shame on Cook IF he goes, Shame on him !
He’s the CEO of one of the most powerful tech companies in the world. It’s literally his job to be in the room when tech and policy collide, whether you agree with the host or not. Business leaders don’t get to sit out because of politics. If anything, you should want him there representing the industry instead of leaving the table empty.

What gift will he bring?! Solid gold iPhone? Solid gold AirPods? What is the most gaudy Apple product we can dip in gold?
Probably a solid gold Mac Pro, but the vintage trash can edition.

He should though be thanking Trump for loosening China’s death grip on Apple and giving them a path to potentially exit manufacturing within the country. Apple was largely responsible for building them into the manufacturing beheamoth they have become after spending nearly half a trillion there over the last decade, which has allowed them to bully around foreign corporations.

Cook is a businessman and understands he needs to play the game and wants to be the best at it. I don't blame him for that at all. I would argue Trump responds very well to gifts and Cook took advantage of that. He's just playing the game as always.
True, but what a shame the US Presidency has become an exercise in grifting.

Hoping for another appearance on South Park by Timmy. We've got a new gift for _____ and we think you are going to love it. Apple Vision PRO Air MAX. You enter the Matrix and it keeps you from making dumb decisions IRL.

Will be very interesting to see who of these other guy’s that shows up and who don’t?
That is the big question?
