Unsure why this is the case because I've got one and it's really dull.
They've hidden most of the cool new features. For example, I accidentally held down the camera control button and it switched into the AI mode. I'd entirely forgotten about this. In the same breath, it's also one of those features searching for a use case. I used it once to identify a flower my wife spotted while out walking. That's kinda it. I tried it once to identify a cafe and find a menu but it failed, perhaps because I'm not living in a city (all these features make much more sense if you live in a very urban area).
Other than that, my iPhone 16 Pro Max is essentially the same as the 13 Pro Max it replaced and that my wife now has. I felt she was getting a pretty great phone when I handed it over after having had it for three years (we got Apple to put in a new battery so basically it was like new).
