"Scratchgate", tvOS 26 is a buggy mess and iOS 26 frustrating users more than engaging them…

But, hey, Pikachu.

He met A pikachu. Not the Pikachu. This is like saying Tim Cook met Cat, as he pets a random cat.

At an annual income of $74.6 Million, that means this week long "work trip" which has so far included hugging Pikachu and meeting a boy band, has cost Apple approx $1.43 million.

I sure hope his trip becomes more productive - because my iPhones only keep getting more expensive :D

Yeah but he met the real Pikachu, not just some random in a costume. I mean that's basically priceless.

who games in their phones?

According to Apple, that's millions of users.
Because sliding bars back and forth and paying for gold pieces with real money is not only great fun, but also an absolute must-have, according to Apple's App Store editorial team.
Especially for children. If they don't learn that playing means spending money, then they won't know what is ‘essential’.

But maybe the company only says that because it earns 30% on each of the millions of money-burning subscriptions and payments.

People who like to do more than spend money on progress, who like to enter fantasy worlds, solve puzzles, role-play or experience races, are naturally not attracted by Apple's definition of a game.

But to each their own.

That's cool. They could've chosen a better Pokémon.

... Now. To enhance my Pokémon life, I'd like an iPad Mini with super awesome capabilities, please.

I was expecting Tim Cook to look at a Gundam and thinks " This is Transformer!"

Gundam's wayyyyy too political for Tim Cook's social media team trying to make him seem like a relatable human being instead of a walking spreadsheet earning more money in a day than everyone here does in a year.

We do. I play Bejeweled Classic in Zen mode all the time on my iPhone when I have to wait for things. I find it very soothing. My spouse also played Death Stranding on his iPhone 15 Pro to our 65” OLED TV, the graphics were astounding. In order to keep it cool we had to sandwich the iPhone in the middle of 2 ice packs, but then it ran great. 👍🏻

That is a coincidence since both Pikachu and USB 2.0 are over 25 years old. Pikachu was released in the first half of 1998. USB 2.0 was released in the first half of 2000. So both were released over a quarter century ago. Tim Cook still uses the quarter-century old USB 2.0 technology on the newly released 2025 iPhone 17 and iPhone Air. Read the following thread for more information on how much Cook is disrespecting and cheating customers by doing that:
I’m just happy we’re not still using lightening connectors to be honest.

Apple CEO Tim Cook is in Japan this week to celebrate the reopening of Apple Ginza in Tokyo on Friday.

So far, Cook has met with Japanese boy band Number_i, and hugged Pokemon character Pikachu. Cook also said that he connected with App Store developers, and visited Bandai Namco to play iOS game Dragon Ball Gekishin Squadra.

Apple Ginza was Apple's first retail store location outside of the United States when it opened in 2003. The flagship store included a 27-foot Genius Bar, an 84-seat theater, and an internet cafe for customers to visit.

The Sayegusa Building where Apple Ginza was located needed to be updated, so in 2022, Apple moved the store to a temporary location. Apple is now ready to reopen Apple Ginza, and the new store has received a number of upgrades.

There is an Apple Pickup station for customers to pick up online orders, a Genius Bar, a seating area for one-on-one Apple Vision Pro demos, and a space for Today at Apple sessions.

Customers in Japan can attend the store opening on Friday, September 26 at 10:00 a.m. local time, and Cook will be in attendance. The store will be selling special-edition Apple Gift Cards for the reopening, and Apple also shared special wallpaper designed for the iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
