Why not just move Apple HQ over to China already if you love them so much.

For the same reason the headquarters of IBM, Dell, Microsoft, Coca-Cola, Comcast, Tesla, JP Morgan, General Motors, Facebook, etc remain in the United States, even though their CEOs are on the same board?

In other words...WHY?

Just a guess.

What a great deflection!

So it's ok for Apple to do something if the likes of Goldman Sachs and Facebook are also doing it. What courage Tim's Apple has.

They already had a better tax scam set up in Ireland. Now that's going away a move to China is probably being considered.

How long before he gets an official title for a Chinese government position? Might as well just make him your People's Technology Czar or whatever the equivalent is. I just sold all my AAPL stock (over 300 shares) and I'm not regretting it. I still like Apple for a lot of reasons but it's getting harder and harder with each passing year.

Yep...same with Satya Nadella, Elon Musk, Michael Dell, Muhtar Kent, Ginni Rometty, and many other successful CEOs.

How's your courage lately? Have you mustered enough to commit to not purchasing products, tech and non-tech, from companies that that manufacture their products in China, since you feel so strongly about the situation?

No surprise the usual suspects can’t figure out the issue with this, given the timing and the optics. No surprise it’s the same people who defend Apple over and over and over, no matter the issue and are the first to jump in on any negative post about Apple.

Can we ship Tim Cooked to China permanently? Then bring back Gil Amelio, he was 10x better. I can't believe the number of people working at Apple and the lack of innovation. Seems all they're interested in is selling us more services and producing buggy hardware and software. Heck, even the Apple TV is screwed up.

I remember when someone complained to Tim Cook that he was mixing politics too much with the company and Mr Cook belligerently told the guy he should stop investing in Apple, because Apple was all about doing what’s right. I wonder if Mr Cook has uncomfortable memories of that conversation now, or if he thinks he’s still 100% fighting that good fight.

He also put up billboards saying what happens on your iPhone stays on your iPhone while sending your Siri requests to contractors to analyse. He has no problem lying straight to people's faces if it helps pad his bonus.

That was when some major Apple investors took issue with Apple investing in sustainable energy to power the company's operations, while lessening its environmental impact. That's more of a smart business decision than taking a political stance.

Cook told the investors they should get out of Apple stock if they had a problem with that.

I don't seem him feeling any different about that now than when he did five years ago when that came to a head.

I'm sure Tim would feel equally strong about a number of social issues if they also came with government tax breaks.

Unfortunately, social issues like equal rights and commitment to not discriminate, ie treating everyone equally, don't come with tax breaks.

I suppose that's why Apple actively discriminates in its hiring so they can exploit their "diversity" for marketing

Nice deflection from the conversation at hand.

Still, it sounds like you have hard information supporting your assertion. I sure would like to see your proof on the above. Post a few links, if you will.

I look at Apple job openings for engineers. All require a BS or MS, many a PhD.
