Personally I have no issue with what I have seen with iOS26 and iPadOS26 etc.
Some potentially nice new features, and some other evolutions.
Liquid Glass is divisive, but I'll hold judgement until I see and use it.

As for aligning
the various version numbers, that makes a lot of sense and adds clarity to users as they can easily see if all devices at right OS version.

Not surprised. With no fees to access the developer betas, many would have eagerly wanted to try out the new design of the software.

Stability and app compatibility have been amazing for me considering it’s a beta. My only issue since B4 is major performance issues with Pro Motion, stuttering everywhere, and a little lag on my 16 PM, just feels horrible to use. I hope they fix that in B5 because B1, B2, and B3 ran significantly smoother.

Plenty of time before release, so I'm sure they'll fix that by then. B4 on the Ultra 2 though is great, fast and smooth, with battery life on par with the official release. Same for my iPad Mini A17 Pro, running pretty smoothly on that with battery on par with iOS 18. I love the watch flick the wrist to dismiss things, or stop timers and alarms. It’s a simple feature but an amazing quality of life improvement.

The number of people using something doesn't mean it's popular. They are literally different concepts.

Look at Windows market share.

Well, it’s a redesign so I’m pretty sure most developer want to stay on top of that…Not sure Apple should extrapolate much else from this.
They need to. They need some positive news about their not-innovation.
That’s PR: Focusing on something good.

Good point. Not having to pony up money to get it early definitely makes it more appealing to try out.

Delusional man. This is the worst iPhone experience ive had. Wait until the boomers experience this, theyre not gonna know what to do.
Most will use just a tiny fraction of the available features and may not notice anything other than it kinda looks different.

Honestly them dropping the fee is probably cuz they couldnt figure out the bug that mistakenly gave developer permissions to an account that downloaded developer betas from other sites 😂 I remember having to search for developer seeds iOS 6-9, then sometime around iOS 10-11 I started getting emails every year from Apple that gave me direct links to the developer profiles needed for betas. I’ve never paid the dev fee in my life. Unless it wasn’t a bug and they just gave it since I always made sure to give consistent bug feedback reports ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I’ll never know 😇😇

I've also used the dev download for many many years without ever paying. I thought the yearly $99 fee was for putting your app up on their store.

It's actually the first ever iOS dev beta I've not installed, it just looked lack-luster to me.

Same here, first time not installing an iOS beta. Not enticed to do so. In fact, still running 16.0 on my 14 Pro. Didn't get the 15, no gottahaves for me on that model. And the 16 would've given me a crap Music app, and horrendous Photos app. No, they first need to fix that before I buy a new iPhone.
