It's disappointing to see Apple have the F1 now and haven't done anything special for it/with it for the Vision Pro.
The worst part... is that they haven't done anything with broadcasting the actual races at all, for any client. In order to actually watch sessions (other than the ones they're offering for free) you have to link your Apple account with your F1 TV Pro account, and you just go to the F1 TV Pro app/website as you did before (if you had F1 TV Pro before).

So... they bought the rights and hooked up authentication, but did absolutely nothing in software to move the experience into their ecosystem. The experience of watching an F1 race is now *more* complicated.

Good job, guys. No amount of special promotion ads are going to fix that. Have your devs spend some time actually working on the real problem here.

lol lots of people disagreeing with you who actually think it's a good movie, how funny

Edit: I haven't seen it... just remembered this as soon as I read your post. 😛

Don't disagree with you about linking your account to F1TV app/website. I'm guessing that will change in the future.

But you can watch all the practices, qualifying and races in the Apple TV app along with the new Drive to Survive in 4K (and not have to pay Netflix for 4K).

For shame… they had a chance to have the golf cart cruise over and screen-wipe the Apple logo on the end tag and missed it 😔

The F1 stream quality so far is better than ESPN but it definitely needs a lot of improvement. The 4K HDR stream looks terrible on the tvOS TV app. It’s better on the macOS TV app but there’s no selection for different audio tracks like the Sky Sports F1 commentary. Instead it’s a separate stream that’s not even in 4K.

Apple needs to add the interactive stream from the F1 TV app into the Apple TV app.

Tim has chances to win. 2026 F1 car is 3.5 sec/lap slower than 2025 car. Negative innovation......
I know there is a bit of controversy now, but IMO this is nothing new. What we are seeing is growing pains for F1 constructors, drivers and race organizers. It is just too early to tell as of now I think how all this will shake out.

(I feel like we forget that some teams really hated last gen cars with passion too.)

As one of the 17 Vision Pro owners who loves F1 I can't agree with this more. Why not do an immersive video of a hot lap around the course like they did around Yas Marina for the movie promo? Imagine getting to ride along for one lap every week. It'd be great!

Or put those special cameras at key corners? I'm not even asking for the ability to watch them live, they could just pop out a "Race Recap" video a couple of days later.

Even a walk around the pit lane would have been great; I'd love to see the new cars "in person."

But instead we got nothing other than the ability to put the race map, race data, or driver cameras in multi view. Which I guess is technically better than nothing, but really only if you're grading on a massive curve.

At least he showed more character then when he waved the flag in Austin a few years ago. A bit weird they still have the lollipops though, they haven't used those for over a decade.
They use them in F2 - maybe they don't feel the buggy is up to the standards of an F1 car 😛

Looking forward to the long game with F1 and AppleTV - hoping they get global rights as well. Hoping as well that once they have a working and responsive market they will do more than what we are getting now.

I would love for one not to hear about how Sky Glass customers in the UK can get in car views from every car but not Australian viewers.

The new battery rules are really causing some rifts with the sport. It's almost comical that F-1 is prioritizing sustainability for 22 cars to race for a few hours (I know I'm leaving out practice and testing) but in the meantime the carbon footprint for the transportation of the teams and fan base is astronomical. Bring back real racing to F-1 and drop the whole hybrid feel good thing.
F1 announced a couple of years ago that ALL aspects of F1 will be net zero by 2030 - But I agree with you, I like the old days where they were not limited by what engine they could use. Hell, they even had cars with 6 wheels!

At least strap a Vision Pro to Martin Brundle... would have been awesome getting a 1st person POV of him interviewing Machine Gun Kelly for instance... haha

Is it just me? You can't see anything F1 on Apple TV unless you have the latest operating system. And if you don't have an iPad that can run the latest, you're SOL
