I'm getting tired of this one. Over the past few months I've seen:

"Apple far from China Mobile deal"
"Deal between China Mobile and Apple imminent"
"Differences strain Apple and China Mobile Prospective Deal"
"Apple Stock on the rise in the face of China Mobile agreement"
"Apple stock drops in the face of challenges with a China Mobile Deal"

Pick one already! Are they close or not! :p

This deal is happening. It's good for both companies.

Even if it doesn't happen Apple is still surging in China, moving from 6th to 3rd place last quarter.

Close, yet far away.

That's politics for you.. I bet more than half of those headlines are leaks by either party to put pressure on the other.

Sounds like a tough process on both sides.

They keep making deals, but a few hours later they're always hungry for another one.

5s/5c does not work well in CM TD-LTE Network

and that is the reason why there is no deal (or no announcement yet). There are plenty of Hong Kong version of 5s/5c got into China and running on CM's TD-SCDMA (their g3 network not g3 ) and TD-LTE network in the test cities. And their experience is not exactly good. Once a user need to make a call, 5s/5c will drop to 2g connection, and after the voice call, the phone is supposed to find the 4g connection again. Except that CM current TD-LTE network does not support CFSB fast return as yet. So a user will have to wait 20 seconds+before it get back to 3G and another 20 seconds + to find the TD-LTE signal. And the worst part is that if there is no 3g signal, user is screwed and their 5s/5c will not be able to find the 4g signal and they are stuck in the 2g land unless they flip back and forth with the airplane mode or power down and up their 5s/5c. There are plenty of complains from the China msg boards. The only phone that CM officially supported now one that log in both 2g and 4g network at the same time. The good news is that it is just a technical difficulty. The bad news is that you are waiting for CM to roll out the solution. It will take a very long time.

Have fun with the Chinese msg board:

I can pay my share, can you?

Why do you think you have the responsibility to share any of that? I don’t. Most of those debt should be paid back by the oil companies and the firearm companies since they pushed the costly wars into reality.

It's finally official! January 17 is the date. It's 2 weeks before Chinese New Year.
