Apple Color: DV NTSC Firewire Monitoring Hack?

I have an old Canopus ADVC box and I would like to use it for monitoring in Apple Color.

I know Color does not allow monitoring except through the higher-end HD solutions, (AJA, BlackMagic, etc), but I was wondering if there is some kind of hack to make it happen anyway? I just cannot believe that SD monitoring is not available over Firewire!

For the record, I'm grading SD stuff, so it's not like I'm asking for a downconvert from 2K or anything.

The AJA Io HD connects via FW and allows SD monitoring from Color, that's it though. You could also pick up an Matrox MXO which uses your DVI port.
