Apple.com - Not able to switch from Edge to 2 year?

I'm currently on Verizon Edge with the Galaxy S4.

I wanted to go ahead and make sure I had the correct pricing on the Apple store website, so I went ahead and acted like I was buying the iPhone 5S.

When I went to the purchase screen, it said that I would be charged $549 and that I had to wait till April 2016 to get the $99 price.

I'm currently on Edge, so I should be able to upgrade at any time, what gives? Can I not switch my plan to a 2 year contract on the Apple website? Do I have to order through Verizon? I really want to get the iPhone from the Apple Store pre-ordered :/

Did you pay off your outstanding balance on your S4 yet?
 
I am also on the Verizon edge and will be upgrading from Note 3 to Note 4. However you will have to purchase from Verizon's website or call Verizon. The website should tell you how much you'll pay for the iPhone 6 from your Galaxy S4 payment. Calling Verizon would get you a faster answer if your willing to pre order.
