Apple.com Orders Still Take 2-3 Weeks?

Hello all,

My wife wants a Gold 64GB iPhone. Currently, the online store shows the shipping time of 2-3 weeks. Has anyone ordered recently, and has it truly taken 2-3 weeks? Or it's only an estimate and there is a chance it could ship sooner? Just wanted to know the experience of the forum. Thanks.

I did and it arrived within 10 days, not 2 to 3 weeks. This may vary, but that is my experience. I to opted for the Gold iPhone
 
I got mine in store (Apple) and didn't wait for it. I just went and they had it in stock. So it was less than 24Hrs.

If you do have an Apple Store nearby, do keep an eye out for stock. You'd be surprised.

This morning I was shocked to see a gold 64GB T-Mobile iPhone available at my local store. However, by the time I pressed the Order button, it said it wasn't available anymore. :(

So, I'm going to try again tomorrow morning. However, if I can't get it soon, I might as well order online. So I wanted to know if it's really 2-3 weeks.
 
All the Apple stores around my area have plenty of stock of all the phones. I heard that Apple will now have a huge inventory at Apple stores in California according to the Apple Rep at the store.

In Sac, CA for some reason it says avail for gold 32GB verizon all day today and yesterday but when I click submit order it never works. Why would that be?

You can order from the local inventory online?

Hardly 2-3 weeks. Like I said, once I decided to buy the 5S, it took me 24Hrs of checking to actually get one.
