This is my first Apple product and purchase from Apple.com. If I don't like the iPhone 10 how strict is apple with in store returns or exchanges? Does it need to be in perfect condition? Apple seems much more honest and customer oriented than Samsung so I feel like they won't be ripping me off. I also baby my electronics so chances are there won't be a mark on it especially in under 14 days. With such limited stock would an exchange for a different carrier, size, or color even be an option during the first 2 weeks?

I imagine as long as you don't destroy the phone within the first two weeks, they will accept the return. Just make sure you keep all of the packaging and accessories it came with, as all those will need to go back as well.

You will easily be able to return it during the window, changing for a different color or size is very unlikely. You just have to return and reorder most likely.

I've already got a case and screen protector so unless I completely slam it on the floor I should be ok.

That's what I was afraid of, do my chances of an exchange rather than return and rebuying increase by going into Apple store or calling or trying online?

Not possible online, very slight chance at a store, but since the phone is backordered until December, unless you get extremely lucky that they have on there, you won't be able to exchange it.

It's highly unlikely you'll be able to exchange given the amount of iPhones on backorder.
Understand completely I just thought maybe one way gave me a slightly better yet extremely slim chance of making it happen.

Unless things changed, I bought an iPhone 7 plus last year online when orders first opened, and then returned it to the store just short of 2 weeks later. They were shocked I was returning it, but they gave me a full refund with no issues.

Your chances are slim to none.
People need to make up their minds when purchasing.
Not figure out later they like a different color or they want a higher or lower storage capacity model and try to exchange it.

Next idea since going officially through apple sounds almost impossible. How hard would finding someone in the same situation maybe they want black now and I want white so we swap them at an Apple store? Is apple ok with transactions like those taking place?

Sure, its your phone. You can do whatever you want with it.
You can post an ad on Craigslist or anywhere else to see if someone wants to swap with yours.

As long as you were not in their store or just outside the door, there is not much they can do to stop you. If the store is in a mall they can have management remove you.

Yes, I wouldnt go in and walk around an Apple store asking people that just bought their iphone to swap out with yours :D
That's a sure way to have security called on you and get kicked out.
