I try not to ever post all-caps-exclamation-immature-dramatic posts, and often get annoyed at others who do but this is my cheat post.

Apple, why why WHY have you not given us the option to NOT sync voice memos to iTunes. I never never EVER want my voice memos in my library. Ever. Now I understand that this may be useful to some but to me this is insanely annoying. That useless option in iTunes does nothing. And please spare me the feedback link... I've already.

I second this, i actually stopped using the voice memos because of this reason.

Nothing's stopping you from deleting said memos once they're in iTunes. Otherwise, you're just going to have to wait and see what Apple does.

I do this; I'm tired of doing this. I use memos all day to send song clips to people, record lectures, etc. After a while it's extremely aggrevating. I can see this not being an issue for people who hardly use voice memos and only have to go in and clean up their library every once in a while but not for me. I legitimately hate the lack of this feature. What the hell does that "sync voice memos" checkbox even do?

I understand Your frustrations perfectly. These fcuking retards from Apple are totally deaf to all user feedback about their moronic inventions. There are not really that many of these, but these which exist makes one wonder what morons, retards and idiots work at apple and make decisions there. In some cases one just wants to scream, cry and pull out one's hair, like it is with the fcuking voice memos. After feeling this for a long time, I just found, however, some solution. Actually I created an account at this forum just to post this, since there are a lot of frustrated people asking questions everywhere, and no answer anywere.. The solution is not perfect, but it is better than hearing some private voice memo when the music library is played among people... It is also better than having to remember to delete them all the time (really, what morons can even suggest this as a solution??).

The solution is the following:
1) go to "/Users/yourusername/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media"
2) right click on the "Voice Memos" folder and select "Info"
3) in the "General Properties" section select "Locked"

That's it. This prevents all apps from accessing the Voice Memos folder. This also means that iTunes cannot copy voice memos to that place.

There is only one slight inconvinience with this solution, however. When trying to synchronize new voice memo iTunes shows an alert complaining that it was unable to access the disc. But this only happens during the first synchronization after new memos have been added. Until You add new memos, the alert box will not appear. So I would say this is only a slight inconvenience compared to necessity of remembering that memos have been added and deleting them. Or listening to Your private memos being played to people listening to Your music...

(Another solution was there, but i deleted it since i'm not sure it wasn't the source of problems i experienced after applying it)
