[automerge]1572877139[/automerge]I honestly think it's just because companies avoid scaling up salaries and people collectively aren't demanding better pay.

The idea is to improve brand image and reduce the number of people buying non-Apple products just because they hate Apple as a company.
Sales of iPhones are dwarfed by sales of Android phones, and sales of Macs are dwarfed by sales of PCs. Apple needs to do something to win those people over if they’re to continue growing.
Increasing prices only decreases marketshare.
If you don’t think this tactic will work, you don’t have to own shares of AAPL. Feel free to sell - the price is at its all time high now, so if you think it’ll be going down, no reason you wouldn’t sell.
The problem with lowering housing prices is that it would screw over everyone that currently owns a house.
We saw this in the last housing crash where prices dropped and people owed more than the house was worth.
Perhaps Gavin Newsom can spend less taxpayer money on illegal aliens and use the money on Americans in need.
US states competiting for companies with tax breaks and incentives is absolutly absurd practice. In Europe any form of state aid through ad hoc tax allowances, deductions or credits is forbidden so that a state cant offer tax breaks and incentives to a specific company, but rather to everyone in order to be legal. This way, companies invest where it most make sense from a business perspective and not from a pure tax point of view. Currently, big tech companies are blackmailing state governments to reduce their tax burden or they would move their offices to anther state which in turns offers heavy tax break to attract such company. At the end, this company is not paying any taxes regardless of its location.Gotta get those housing prices down... Maybe Apple should move their HQ to a state other than California which has lower housing prices and taxes. I am sure many other states and communities would greatly desire Apple to move there and would give them all kinds of tax breaks and incentives to relocate.
I think $2.5 billion in U-haul rentals ought to clean up the California homeless problem.

Literal pepe account here to promote some variation of the "immigrants drive down wages" myth. America is a big rich country with lots of room. Any problems it has are very little to do with illegal immigrants.
US spends money on illegal extraterrestrials?
I think the issue is quite real. The amount of homless people you see on the streets in California is beyond normal. There are people earnings 100k$ a year leaving in basements or tiny sheared rooms. Pathetic.I’d like an affordable penthouse on Central Park south.

As I said, these tax breaks are for everyone and only limitted to local taxes (e.g. real estate tax) where a specific municipaliy can lower the tax rate for specific kind of real estate property but has to offer this exact rate to any other company having similar or identifical real estate property. There is a big difference how this system works in the US, where a company is granted a specific exemption including in respect of its income tax liability let alone net worth, real estate or other indirect taxes.Uh, what.
A company getting a tax break in return for settling on a particular town is common (and problematic) practice in Germany.
