Blind trust in apple hahahahha, all the apple fans deserve this, bad apple employees. Ones that steal r&d and nude pics of customers.
Jesus, what a mean-spirited awful thing to say!
Are you one of those people that callously say that someone “deserved” to get robbed if they didn’t lock their front door or “deserved” to get raped if they went out alone?

I personally (and would teach my children the same...) refrain from standing on a pedestal, & dictating/casting judgement on what negative things entire swaths of people “deserve”.

Domestic is dog whistle for racist in your little world? Domestic-aryan? Wtf is wrong with you man?

And I think you used literally wrong or need need to go see a doctor.
Let me break it on down for ya...
YES, if you are hiring an african-american, a chinese-american, a native-american, and an irish-american; & have 4 separate wages you’re willing to pay for the same job, based on how “domestic” you consider each to be- that is absolutely racist.
Thank you for your concern w/ regards to my headache, btw! Luckily, blatant racism doesn’t give me a pounding migraine or anything... just a mild ache, trying to wrap my head around people harboring such ugly & false notions in this modern and (I truly thought) more enlightened era.

Did you even read the article I posted from Bloomberg? They pretty much spell it out in there.

There have been many instances of IP theft that happened the exact same way over the years. The more you read about the cases where it happened or was attempted, the more you see a lot of things they all have in common. This isn't about being "racist against Chinese people" or any of that. This is about a realization that government owned Chinese companies have no problem stealing American business processes, formulas or ideas if it helps them become more competitive. They don't respect intellectual property rights and they know that the best way to gather information is via talented people of their own who get hired in American companies working with the technologies they're interested in.

What Kind of credentials do you have to feel entitled to make statements like this and be taken seriously?

Did I ever imply they should hire white? Or did I just say domestic? Last time I checked domestic is a pretty broad range of skin tones. people who see racism everywhere are a problem...you should stop seeing racism everywhere.

As a Chinese, I am super sad to hear you saying this. However, no every Chinese are like them.

I'm not the person who originally posted the "China is our enemy" comment to which you replied.

That said, I do believe that the Chinese government, as it exists today, is one of the more terrible governments we have in the world today. I place them right up there with North Korea, Iran and Saudi Arabia in terms of the repression of their people. One need only look at the plight of the Uighurs or the people of Hong Kong to see the point.

This is distinct from the Chinese people, of course. The current generation stands at the pinnacle of one of the most fruitful ancient civilizations the world has seen. It is a tragedy that they continue to be yoked under the thumb of Maoist communism.

You’re tripping.
The guy that stole secrets was a chinese-american. You said he shouldn’t be hired, nor should any other chinese-american.
If you can’t recognize your own racism in that opinion- I can’t help you, bro.

The article never said they were Americans or citizens. Better read that again big guy.

It's not wrong or "racist" to point out races / nationalities / cultures or to merely discuss them, otherwise what's the point of language if nothing is allowed to be identified or classified? Life is getting so good for some people that they seem to be on an endless crusade, looking for something to be offended about.

Why did they have to mention they are Chinese born?
Is it ok if I said a black American stole money from a Japanese lady in the subway today? A Jewish bank CEO accused of money fraud?

That piece of information is not-relevant to the story. They could have just said Ex-Employees accused of trade secret theft to Chinese government. Mentioning his race, religion, birth place, political mindset, his ex-wife has nothing to do with it.

It's world news, highly relevant to the IT industry, and is part of the overall issues underlying the trade war, the de-industrialisation of the US and the future of IT. The article is about an alleged crime. I like to know everything about a story so I don't want the reporter to hold back, but that's just my opinion. I don't let this sort of stuff change my relationship with my friends, colleagues or anyone I meet, but I'm disappointed if it does for others.

Anyway to be honest, whether one is a customer of Apple products or an investor in Apple's shares, it's in all of our interests that the company cherish and protect its intellectual property. We pay a premium for the R&D and the long term support by the company. There's a lot I don't like about Apple but bigger picture I'm glad the company exists, that's for sure.

The Chinese Communist Party appreciates your simplistic, sensitive nature and actively exploits it. While you worry about potentially offending someone, they're stealing everything within reach through tens of thousands of Chinese exchange students and H-1B visa holders.

We are actively enabling a ruthless, communist regime who doesn't share your sensitive nature.

But by all means, worry about the xenophobia and "borderline bigotry" while China points ICBMs at our country.

Why do you assume a missile attack is something to worry about?

In this context, yes.

What context? Any negative reaction to China is racist? And are you saying a missile attack is no big deal? Are you total troll?
