Hi folks,

To sort out an issue that occurred after erasing/factory resetting my MacBook Air M1, I need a copy of Apple Configurator 2.
However, my hackintosh is currently the only other device I have access too and its running High Sierra. For some reason, the App Store doesn't allow me to download Apple Configurator 2 on High Sierra...

Any way how to get this? I really need this tool to fix this issue.

Thanks

Sorry, but I do not have a High Sierra system with Configurator 2 on it.
Have you seen this information about resetting a Silicon Mac?;

Since the App Store installs the Configurator 2 app, I'm not sure if someone with Configurator 2 on their High Sierra system can help. I'm not sure that just the Configurator 2 app is enough. I'll be interested to find out how it works for you. Please keep us updated.

New information:
The App Store will only let you download the current version (v2.13.3) if you have never "Purchased" (confusing since it is free from Apple) which only works with Catalina (10.15) or greater.

I found a way around this, but it may not help you, if someone has a Mac running Catalina or greater they can download Configurator 2 and they have now "Purchased" it. Now that person with a Mac running High Sierra and using the same account (Apple ID) can go to the App Store, check the Purchased section to find "Apple Configurator 2", Click to install/get and there will be a message;

Download Confidurator alert.jpg

The App Store will install a version of Configurator 2 that works on the current OS of that Mac.

I have 1 Mac running Catalina & 2 Macs running Mojave. I tested this process with downloading the current Configurator 2 for the Catalina Mac, then using Purchased got a Mojave compatible version (2.12.1). I then copied the Apple Configurator 2 app from 1 Mojave Mac to the other Mojave Mac and I could successfully launch Configurator 2 on the second Mac.

The version of Apple Configurator 2 that will work with High Sierra is 2.7.1. I have no idea whether the High Sierra Apple Configurator 2 will work for your needs with the Silicon Mac.

Hi there, I don't have this option to download a previous vesion with mojave. When I click download the app store return the next message: "This requires 10.15.6 or newest version"

Some URLs I found after a quick search.
I have NO IDEA whether these will help, but I'll pass them along:

This is the error message that i have if I try to download with mojave:
"Apple Configurator 2 cannot be installed on "your computer" because macOS 10.15.6 or later is required.
I can download it with my other computer running Catalina.

If you "Purchased"(downloaded) Configurator 2 with your Catalina Mac you should now be able to download a version for your Mojave Mac. In App Store on the Mojave Mac, click on your User Pic & Name in the lower left of the App Store window which will open the Purchased section, now you can download "Apple Configurator 2" that will work for Mojave (see my Post # 3). Make sure both Macs are logged in to the App Store using the same Apple ID.

Yes! from the purchased items it's available to download. But if I search or visit the app page inside the app store the app is not available to download. Thanks!

Does this method also work for TestFlight? It does not seem to work for me. And yes I am doing it from the purchased tab.

I Found this thread a bit late because of my own issue downloading Apple Configurator 2 for Mojave 10.14 but in case you still need or if these can be of use to anyone else, here are my personal backups of the app. Such a shame Apple refuses to supply a direct download archive for apps when they are necessary to so many people on older versions of MacOS. Cheers!

Apple Configurator 2 v2.7.1 [MAC OSX 10.12+] Downloaded from App Store on Sierra 10.12, but tested and working on 10.12 AND 10.14 so this will most likely work on High Sierra 10.13.

Apple Configurator 2 v2.12.1 [MAC OSX 10.14] Downloaded from App Store on Mojave 10.14. Latest compatible version for Mojave.

You're welcome! Unfortunately I do not have Apple Developer, and my newest macOS version is 10.14. The App Store is demanding macOS 12 or higher to even "purchase" it at this point. If you can find a Mac running macOS 12+, sign in to their App Store under your account, then download it there. Save that .app file to a USB stick for future use. Then you may be able to use your account on your own machine to download the latest compatible version from the App Store.
