But after the first day, I doubt there will be the long lines expected the first day. Therefore no problem with someone getting some help since it won't be holding a long line up.

If you insist on waiting on line the first day (I mean, why didn't you pre-order?) you deserve to wait on a long line.

The only reason I didn't pre-order was because I will be out of town visiting my family for easter that weekend and there is an Apple store there. If I had pre-ordered, I wouldn't be home on saturday to sign for my ipad.

I'm sure other people have other valid reasons, and I know some just want to be at the Apple store on launch day to be part of the excitement.

Well the good news is that thanks to apple spending lots of time helping folks set up their toys, you will get to spend much more time with that excitement.

I'm playing Devil's Advocate here:

If this iPad is so magical and easy to use, why would someone need help doing extremely basic setup procedures like email, loading apps, etc?! It's 2010!!! What market segment that is identified to buy an iPad is going to have a hard time setting up an iPad?!

Makes you wonder if Apple is just being super duper friendly and nice...or the iPad isn't so magical after all and Apple is trying to be sure that people don't revolt and return the product 3 hours after trying to download an app.

I hope it's the former.

Could it be that Apple setup is required to update the software?:rolleyes:
