My order page has a big "cancel" button next to my order. That's your relief if you think you've been wronged. No program needed.

Hey, personally, I couldn't give a crap. I'm never going to need 2 straps, and I wasn't interested in "swapping".

But, whether there's a cancel button or not, it's still a dick move to advertise something, and then change that after people have ordered. The store clearly said "two straps" - which simply isn't true. As opposed to straps, imagine they removed the charger cable from the box after ordering, would that be acceptable?

What's in the box?

They didn't change anything. They clarified what was always the case but not clearly stated. This now gives you as the buyer an opportunity to assess the new information and decide whether you still want the watch. If you don't, Apple gives you an easy way to cancel.

I wanted the extra band and was going to swap but not getting that fourth piece doesn't change my decision to get the watch.

Yes, they did change it.

They quite clearly said "two straps". Now it says "3 strap pieces". Three pieces is 1 and a half.

When I went to school, 2 != 1.5.

So sounds like you're pretty upset about the change. Safe to say you're canceling your order then?

What? Why is that relevant? I just said above I couldn't personally care less. I don't need two straps.

But, you can't say something, wait for people to order, and then change it. Regardless of whether it's Apple, or any other company.

I still don't understand what the three pieces are or how there could even be three pieces.

Think of it this way. People thought they were getting this:

Instead, however, you're getting this:

Apple Confirms Sport Bands Include Three Pieces to Adjust Size

Oo, I like the illustrations. Well played.

(I'm not mocking you, I really do like them. Helps explain what is actually included)

To complement the phallic drawing above..

A watch needs two straps. One strap has the buckle, and one strap has the holes.

In this case, the strap with the buckle is one size fits all (works for both medium and large). Then the trick is that you get two straps with holes of two different length (one for medium, and one for large). You pick the strap with holes that works best. Now your other strap is the leftover piece.

That actually makes a lot of sense, thanks!

Just got off of the phone with them, and their response was unbelievable. "There must have been some misunderstanding, we were saying there were 4parts in the packaging"..... When I told them that it was undeniably clear when I initially spoke with the representatives that I stated "so there are 4 watch band pieces in the box, 2 x's and 2 y's, 2 full and seperate watch bands" and that they could check the recorded conversations they recanted that there was a misunderstanding or miscommunication. Their idea of a resolution....... A gift gesture $25 in the Apple Store, but wait for it.....the $25 cannot be used for any Apple watch products, ie; a band, or any recently "launched" products. Just ridiculous!

You aren't owed a thing.

Technically, you can still 'Bandswap'. I will have no need for my S/M piece so could swap that for a M/L piece with someone else with smaller wrists. This would give me a spare half band in case mine required replacing
