Of course, if it WAS intentional, then how come there was no Apple mention of this at the WWDC ?

Seems like something that would've been of interest.

Or maybe the group that did it simply didn't think it was very important.

There was no mention of a lot of things at WWDC. How would that be relevant to anyone, anyway?

Welcome to consumer oriented apple. Please enjoy the stay lol.

this seems to be an apple thing. WWDC is not like fill-in-name conference from the rest of the tech industry of late sadly.

You'd go to say docker con to see what docker is lining up and to learn more. Before and after keynote you have the side stuff. demos, roundtables, presentations of use. A worthwhile Geek weekend with fellow docker geeks. This tends to not create mass appeal buzz though beyond docker users though.

Buzz is what apple looks to do with WWDC. A conference where the common man walks away going wth did they just say???? probably not a big seller. Seems to be a trend with them. Swift getting up to version 3 and at these WWDC's we never see it getting any love.

What I'd call love anyway. Paper/presentation submissions for people using it like say at R conferences what I have in mind. Dr's x and y and z now presenting their ground breaking work made possible by our stuff. Sadly this has less appeal as well. Title of presentation a string of esoteric polysyllabic words understood fully only by scientists and or mathematicians.....doesn't have the zing of "look, here is the new messages, see how pretty it is...".

TBH I think apple should run 2 DC's. One for the glitz and glam they are aiming for with the current one. And a second one where its pure geek mode. latter probably would be of more use really.

WWDC is for developers as well. It's much more than the keynote.

I don't know what your expectations are, but there were at least 6 sessions dedicated to Swift 3, and several so called open sessions for Swift, in addition to two for the Swift playground app.
WWDC is not aimed at consumer, however the popularity of the keynote has turned it more consumer/press-friendly. The real love from WWDC is the other stuff. Even if you weren't there most sessions and events are on video: https://developer.apple.com/videos/wwdc2016/

And for those who wants more background material about iOS security, this goes more deeper: https://www.apple.com/business/docs/iOS_Security_Guide.pdf

......

I take it you've never even bothered to look at the over 100 other videos of THE ENTIRE DEVELOPER CONFERENCE?

The Keynote is what you've called for, the entire rest of the week is what you're asking for, but clearly haven't done a simple google search to see what WWDC actually is.
