Apple Considering Launching 8 GB iPhone 3GS Before Christmas?

I would actually love to see this. I currently have an older Blackberry pearl that I really don't mind using. The advantage for me in something like an 8GB 3GS iphone is that I could stop carrying around my 8GB iPod Touch and my phone. I don't need nor want to carry that much music around with me so an 8GB version would work perfect.

I agree this does not make sense, at least not now. The iPhone is selling so briskly and Apple has been successful at keeping prices steady even during this recession. The fact that iPhone will be available at Radio Shack makes this rumor even less viable. Let's see.

The prices may not be reflective of anything Apple is doing. If the rumours are true they could be based on AT&T negotiating with Apple so they can subsidize more phones and make more money. If there is a deal on the table that makes sense for Apple they would take it.

This could also be "droid" reaction. Instead of waiting for the droid to really cut into the market share this could be a preemptive step to keep droid's share low.

Hmmm.... I started a thread about two weeks ago, that a Rogers senior CSR dropped a hint to "...buy now or wait until November 22nd." So I guess we'll know in about a week.

Crap...at least the $30/mo data plan will keep it from becoming the "new Razr." Still, there will be lots of people sucked in by the "free" part, who don't consider the data plan because their eyes glaze over any time they hear the word "free." Those people will continue to spiral into debt because even after everything our economy has gone through, they are still encouraged to spend more than they make.

it is the new razr, lots of people want it, they are all getting it, then the next big thing is going to come and it will die
