Apple Continues iPhone Tips Series With New Videos on Apple Pay Cash, Dual-SIM Support, and More

Apple today shared additional new videos that are part of its ongoing iPhone Tips series called "iPhone Can Do What?" that was launched last week. The series is designed to highlight features that are available on the iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR.

The new videos cover sending and receiving money through iMessage using Apple Pay Cash, finding a missing Apple device using the Find My iPhone app, using dual-SIM functionality to have two phone numbers on an iPhone at once, and the A12 Bionic chip.

Each video's description links to Apple's full iPhone tips website, which includes additional short tutorial videos and tips on available iPhone features. Apple has uploaded quite a few videos in this tutorial series so far.

Dual sim is very popular or a necessity in Latin America and Asia, even in Europe for people who work or live in different country and has to travel around.
I can confirm Dual sim support is still missing in some parts of Latin America, my parents have to carry two phones all the time, this is something Apple should work on.

And yes, these adds reek desperation from any place in the world, the annoying part is that solving the problem is so easy:

- Cut the price, yes, the thing is too expensive, even for the hardest fanboy.

- Add 1-2 mm thickness and increase battery life.

- Bring external storage support and a decent file management system.

- Dark mode and all kinds of customization people have been asking for years.

- Ability to choose default apps, honestly, I prefer other map, music, browser and mail apps over the native ones.

- Solve the intrusive volume indicator.

- Redising the interface, make better use of it.

For iPad the list is longer: Get rid of iOS alltogether or bring real computer functionallity, the ability to code/compile, run PRO software, have several windows open, pointer support, etc.

Why not change to carriers that support it? Or hammer your carriers until they get the message? I have it going now and it really is way better.

They ARE available. If you're being held back by your carrier or bank, that's not Apple's job, it's yours to complain. Remember when those Australian banks were trying like crazy to not use Apple Pay and do their own first-party nonsense and tried to demand NFC access? That did nothing but waste their customers' time, and was wholly THEIR fault.

They ARE available. If you're being held back by your carrier or bank, that's not Apple's job, it's yours to complain. Remember when those Australian banks were trying like crazy to not use Apple Pay and do their own first-party nonsense and tried to demand NFC access? That did nothing but waste their customers' time, and was wholly THEIR fault.

Contactless has been standard in Australia for 15 years, any "first party" implementation was around way before Apple.
Can you blame telcos and banks for no Pay Cash? EKG? Siri? News? Diction? Maps?

Kind of a bad joke that BeatsX with W1 chip doesn’t have the find me feature.

Not everybody can wear iPods but that shouldn’t make them 2nd class citizens.

None of the features that are shown are unique or haven’t been able for years on other platforms. Besides that only half of them are available in my country.

As a result I find those ‘ads’ more frustrating than making me proud or being helpful.

No Irish carriers are supporting eSIM. Any enquiries I’ve made are met with “we are looking into the possibilities of all new technologies” which is basically “not happening”. My second carrier is refusing to switch me to eSIM for “technical reasons” and I’m still trying to convince my partner to change. What I really want is the phone with two physical sim slots.

And bad ads as well. Why bragging about some of these features when they aren’t supported by Apple in your country?

Other features have been around for years now on other platforms.

Also we all know that visuals are telling more then words alone and stick better in memory.

Instead of making me more curious the ones that are not supported are making me annoyed and frustrated.

Next time you’ll try to showcase something be sure it works and is supported. Half of these ads/tips are vaporware. The other half have become mainstream on any platform.

What you really want in the first place is a solution that works imo. The idea of an e-sim is great. But when it’s not supported it’s useless and more a weakness than a strength to use it as an ad/tip. It’s misleading.
