I'll be honest. This really baffles me. How iOS can even be remotely considered as Enterprise-worthy is beyond me.

To me, it's more than checking email. I see this at my work everyday. When any moderate to heavy tasks need to be done, out come the Dells and Lenovos. Granted MS-Office has given iOS a needed boost but it still needs a file system.

New wearable device? WHAT NEW WEARABLE DEVICE? DID I MISS AN ANNOUNCEMENT? WHERE IS IT? WHAT'S IT CALLED? WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE? AAAAAAAHHHHHHH NEW APPLE PRODUCT NEW APPLE PRODUCT NEW APPLE PRODUCT NEW APPLE PRODUCT NEW APPLE PRODUCT

Oh wait no, this is just more baseless speculation, isn't it? Damn, I thought this forum was better than that.

Even the village idiot can figure out that Apple is coming out with a wearable device. We don't need an official Apple announcement to figure out that one.

Why? Because they patented it and trademarked it? That's ********. They have zillions of patents and trademarks for things that do not currently and may not ever exist. What other evidence do you have besides "other people are doing it?" You have none. No part leaks, nothing. Shut your trap and quit spreading rumors.

I’m looking at some mobile dev work in the Fed sector (extended an existing solution of ours), and they’re using XenMobile (the Citrix product).

Should I start pulling my hair out now or later? :D

[edit]

FWIW, they’re looking into deploying iPads, and not just for data entry, it would be a very “tablet-centric” solution, really capitalizing on the portability and camera (+GPS data).

I never used XenMobile, but Citrix solutions are usually solid. You shouldn't want to eat your keyboard, I think :3

Let's see.

Current US estimated population, 314 Million
Current EU estimated population, 506 Million
Current Indian estimated Population, 1.24 Billion
Current Chinese estimated population, 1.35 Billion

While the US is an important market, it's hardly the #1.

What does population size has to do with market opportunity?
1.35 billion people in China but no one can afford the product.
vs
350 million people in the United States where everyone can afford the product.

hrm.

Ummmm, I thought I was posting to MacRumors, not Scientific America or Popular Science.

The report is about the number of activations of devices on Good management systems.

It doesn't necessarily mean they're being bought by enterprises, nor used for any specific enterprise app.

A lot of the phone ones are likely to be BYOD activations, so people can use their personal phones to access corporate email. OTOH, I'd think that most tablet activations were very company related.
