@rmhop81 My point is anyone can say something such as, “It looks to me from other iPhones that Apple hasn't changed the price despite removing accessories” or “Apple didn’t increase the price but probably didn’t because they removed the earphones and power adapter“ or even “I think, a power adapter should be included no matter what.” Or so many other feelings. The problem/obnoxious behavior is when someone states an opposing opinion/feeling, the other person responds with (for example), “No, Apple really did [that thing] and you’re wrong.” That is, unless someone comes up with believable Apple accounting documents, extremely unlikely — and that’s earlier in this reread I suggested everyone drop both claims. Clear things up?

Some things are certainly opinions and conjectures, while other things aren't so much. For example, there isn't much of that when it comes to an existing device that was being sold for some time with the usual accessories to then have some of those accessories removed but still sold for the same price -- that's just what actually happened.

Correct. As the iphone 12 never had a charger, which is actually what happened.

But related, as there has been a discussion/side-discussion that got sparked from the thread topic.
Just not to that separate particular point that was being pointed out.

This entire argument is an opinion and it you would be in a more honest position, if you just accepted you don't know what Apples internal thinking is. You don't know if Apple would have raised the price of the SE2, if they didn't stop remove the brick. You are only assuming as such.

Coming up with the argument that apple could have raised the price of the SE2 (in the scenario where they would have continued shipping earbuds and chargers), is extremely unlikely and speculative. As far as I know, Apple has never in it's history raised the (USA) prices of previous model iPhones after launching new ones.

And you're right, of course I don't know the exact internals of Apple's decisions regarding this move, neither do you. But given the arguments we've all provided, it shouldn't be a problem to make a reasonable expectation of what Apple's reasons were. Sometimes PR statements are true, but sometimes they're just that: PR. Have you not once doubted a PR statement from any company in your life, and always swallowed them as the unquestionable, absolute truth?

@MacCheetah3 Why is the desire to have a charger (and regular cable) included "a feeling", while they are a basic necessity for the device to function? Again, as others here have pointed out, most people that I know sell (or pass on) their old iPhone, where they include its charger and cable of course. That means most people actually don't accumulate (original Apple) chargers over time, so they are now forced to buy one at some point, if they want to keep using an original Apple charger.

I don't want to get into a back and forth over this, but I'll try one more time.

The charger and cable are a necessity but not a necessity to be included in the iPhone package. There are a lot of possible comparisons, though I'll stick with Apple products.

Despite a possible extreme few cases, the Mac mini (and Mac Pro) requires a display/monitor as well as keyboard and mouse/trackpad/trackball in addition to the included power cord/cable to function. However, the Mac doesn't include those output and input devices. Is that Apple being unreasonable? No. In fact, the Mac mini exists because some people don't want those items included and rather utilize the peripherals they already have. Indeed, a person can purchase the peripherals at the same time as the Mac, if they don't have them or want an alternative.

Lastly -- I say this because someone will undoubtedly move back to this argument -- the iPhone 12 doesn't have an iMac or MB(P) alternative, so to speak, that is, there's not one option with and one option without the accessories/peripherals included. And that's true. Although, the inclusion or lack thereof is Apple's choice. If they determine other options are lucrative, they'll probably offer them. However, from what I'm seeing, iPhone 12 sales aren't seemingly being passed despite the lack of an Apple included AC adapter. So, the apparent tiny percentage claiming the decision is catastrophically unfair will be mostly ignored -- as it's impossible to please all.

There are the facts, which are immutable and then opinions, guesses, conjectures on those facts. While Apple may never have raised prices mid-stream, they also never shipped a phone without a charging brick...so first times can always happen.

They also never released an iPhone on Jupiter, but by the presented logic it would appear that a wild conjecture like that should somehow carry the same sort of weight and consideration as a much more rational and realistic one, simply because both can be categorized as conjectures.

Sure, it could be possible, but there is no correlation between releasing a phone on Jupiter and Apple having conversations that the vast majority of humans on earth are privvy to.

That wouldn't be the correlation in question.

The example of releasing a phone on Jupiter, just makes the possibility of a conversation about these topics at Apple downright probable by comparison.
Doesn't quite seem so, and with what is essentially nonsensical being entertained, that effectively underscores the point.

A nonsensical point only underscores, that which we don't know can be probable, as we don't know what we don't know. Which leaves these thoughts at the start of the circle.

Which, again, is something different than what was being pointed out. But that's the nature of taking things down a spiraling rabbit hole.

Apple is proud of making their packaging smaller and its effect on the environment. However, this is the real effect of them not including a charger and the real effect on the environment.

And now that you have it (you didn't have one already??) you won”t unnecessarily receive another ever again.

That's pretty dumb.
