Apple Cube 450 Mhz > 500 Mhz : how?

Hi!

I'm wondering if back in the days how the two different Cube models (450 Mhz & 500 Mhz) would differ? - Is there a different CPU running or did Apple just change the speed by modding the resistors?
Are there some instructions to do so out there?
