S sjtidy macrumors member Jul 6, 2012 #4 Cut does seem to work for text though. You can cut and paste text in Textedit, for instance.

S.B.G Moderator emeritus Jul 6, 2012 #6 I use Total Finder which also has the cut option. I also like it because of tabbed browsing in the Finder window. That's a really nice feature.
