Maybe a legal disclosure? It really is kind of amazing they came out and publicly said this.
This gives a glimpse into just how constrained the situation really is.

Where are they getting the GPUs? oh they're not doing AI gotcha 😉Mean while pc builders are laughing because they just built there own pc half price.
I'm in the same boat and plan to modify my iMac to serve as the display for the mini.If you are relentless about the Refurb store checking, you can still score Minis (but don't wait -- be doing it now).
This feels illegal ! Why they don't cut the iPad Pro with 16gb of ram?
It’s not bursting buddy. Even quantum computers are coming within 4-5 yearsCan’t wait for the bubble to burst.

That’s because they bought a ton of them beforehand. Especially A-series chips. It will hit them even more after JulyI'm pretty sure this is more to do with the M5 versions being soon to release than RAM issues. RAM issues are real, but Apple has plenty of RAM for other products.

Maybe the M5 versions are STOCKED with enough RAM and this is only affecting the M4 (and M3 Ultra) series? We can dream.I expect this to delay the introduction of new minis and Studios until sometime next year. Why introduce new desktops with so few configuration options?

Turns out it doesn't matter if you're a supply chain genius when that supply chain just ceases to function. Had Cook known this would happen right now 5 years ago, there would still have been nothing he could have done to stop it. Memory production isn't something that you expand (or contract) in a few months - or hell; a few years. It's why the memory manufacturers aren't frantically expanding their operations; because by the time they've built out the infrastructure to do so, the boom will be over and they'll have wasted billions building infrastructure that they either have to get rid off, or if they decide to use it will cause prices to completely crash, making the investment a money pit.So much for the supply chain genius, he didn't see this coming....
The $1,299 M5/24GB MBA has flawless availability.RAM supply issues are real. Apple would rather sell you an $1,899 MBP rather than a $999 Mac mini. Both M5/24GB.
