Wow, really? They use micro or mini USB for charging? It really would be convenient if they could charge with the same lightning cable you already carry for your phone. I'm surprised they don't.
I don't think it's that surprising. Micro/mini USB charging reaches a far larger audience than lightning. Lightning would reduce the appeal of the product to the mass market it currently dominates. Apple being Apple, I'm sure they ran the numbers and weighed the advantages of leaving the product basically as is. At some point in the future they may change, but it makes no sense to screw with a high margin, low cost product that has mass appeal.

As the guy above said, you're confusing product lines with colour options.

Ever since Steve returned and launched the successful iMac line they've had colour options on many of products. The original iMac had a total of thirteen choices and that was launched back in 1998...

I would see your point, if Apple sold all 13 colors at the same time. It was never more than 4/5 at once.

So ugly, so not Apple. Disgusting.

I suspect that Dre and his Beats team are in charge of this hardware line, and the main guys at Apple don't get too involved. To me, it would seem like a distraction. As long as the Beats hardware meets Apple's high standards, they are happy to just let Dre do his thang.

I'm still extremely disappointed there's no tech upgrade. Six hours of battery life is not acceptable.

Really loved my Power Beats, but they fell apart for no reason and now I have the Power Beats 2 and they kind of suck - pretty uncomfortable so I'm returning them. I hate that every company is now pushing wireless in ear headphones. I refuse to get something else that I have to worry about charging. Anyone have any recommendations that are in ear with a over ear clip (and wired) that's similar to the original Power Beats?

Try out the Jabra headsets.
