Fact, the majority of the freemium apps on the Apple store are analysing and monetising your data, Apple FULLY supports this as it’s been going on for years...

Hence the hypocrisy of them and their data is private BS marketing.

Or what about Google, the big bad nasty company or Facebook, which people on here are obsessed with the way they track them, well Google is iOS Safaris default search engine. And Apple was MORE then happy to integrate Facebook and Twitter, which also tracks you, fully into iOS. Doesn’t matter if they are not there now, because they were ALL busy tracking you when they were..

Wow, I debunked your 2015 article last time you posted it and here you are back again reporting the same rubbish.

Likewise your implication that because Google is the default search on iOS devices it means Apple is giving Google access to your data or personal information. They’re not.

how about apples own guideline/rule for devs which says something like ”... if you get caught by storing and selling...” (collecting user data) ”... you may be banned from appstore”. and that rule was introduced just a year ago after several privacy issues were on headlines - before that apple allowed developers to collect, store and sell data freely. now they have added this rule.. but apple also said that they wont monitor what devs do with your data. https://assets.bwbx.io/documents/users/iqjWHBFdfxIU/rg5Kb.hn528o/v0

whenever you answer ”yes” your data may be harvested , stored and sold.

maybe apple needs to do something more than just those ridiculous ads? maybe apple needs to make such modifications that ”what happens on your iphone, stays on your iphone” and cannot be sent to a server.

Might as well unplug the internet. Apple can’t control what happens to the data, one gives the app, after the app hits the developers servers.

Apple isn’t perfect, but I think they are currently the best when it comes to users privacy.

Apple may not be perfect but if I was to pick between Apple and Google/Android I would for sure pick Apple. At least with Apple they give users some choices and options. Head over to a new Google Pixel 3 and you will see that storage space built on the inside is not for storing contacts on it as Google forces you to store all your contacts on their cloud server (Gmail). Apple does not do this as they care about your privacy so you have the option to store and save your contacts on your own iPhone and store your call records also on your own iPhone while this is not the case if you own a Google Pixel smartphone.

i didnt say apple should do something to the data after it was sent to outer space from your device... i said apple shouldnt allow that happening innthe first place by restricing internet access from the apps.

connecting internet by allowing or denying sending packets isnt any way differend than allowing app to access location details for example. those are basic firewall rules, not a rocket science. apps dont need to be able to upload files or data from your phone automatically.

Hence my comment about unplugging the internet. It’s a bit of a rabbit hole as to apple’s responsibility vs the developers responsible. But Apple can’t do anything. You however as the user? If you are suspicious, elect not to install any apps.

I do agree the data on the phone should be sandboxed. However any information you give up voluntarily is ripe for abuse.

Example: a customer gave an apple employee her password and the worker texted some nude photos to himself.

What does that have to do with a stupid customer and an employee that is not fit for the job and should be jailed? Apple has NEVER asked for my password. But I guess point is proven.

and Facebook, the leader of privacy. need more be said?
