Apple Debuts Updated Software for HomePod With Call Support, Multiple Timers, Find My iPhone, Lyric Search and More

How does it know which mail it is supposed to read if my wife or I ask it to do so?
 
Need multi user support before I would consider buying one, pretty much useless as a family device until then.

It does not know and therefore will read the email of the account attached to it, will even adjust music preferences and create playlists. They have not up dated it yet to support multi user, which they should have done from day one like some of the other devices out there.

Same here. Updated from work, so I will try to update the other HomePod when I get home tonight. Maybe by unplugging the updated unit first and then running the software update again ?

I just asked Siri to "play the song with the lyrics the truth about my past impossible."

She started playing Can You Feel the Love Tonight? from the Lion King soundtrack. :)

Can’t get multiple timers. When I try to set a second one, just gives me the option to either replace or keep the existing.
 
Works like a charm if you label as ersan191 called it. “Hey Siri, set a 10 minute pasta timer.”
“Hey Siri, set a 30 minute potato timer.”
“Hey Siri, how much time left on the pasta timer?”
I wish this were a bit more “open,” but it works.

Don’t bother me about my carb intake.....

On my stereo paired homepods it sounds helluva lot louder than it did before, so I think something has changed. Still sounds awesome!

How long did it take to download the update? Mine just stays stuck on Downloading... with a spinning icon

Edit: After resetting the HomePod it downloaded and installed fairly quick, in case anyone else's gets stuck
