I saw this posted on the Vision Pro subreddit by a user where he shows his preorder launch date arrival of Vision Pro delayed by a month to Feb-29 to Mar 07

Gee I hope it's a glitch since so many people have ordered within a few minutes of pre-ordering morning.

Mine is still good for 2/2 delivery - both UPS tracking and Apple says 2/2.

I may have to order a second one as a back up for in store pick up ?

if he placed that order anytime after the first 15 minutes of preorder, obviously its just a glitch

Just placed my order today (Jan. 25th at 11:00) and my in store delivery date is Feb. 2nd.

Guy called up Apple support to confirm if the date slipping was intentional. They apologized and said it was. They’ve been getting reports of this all morning.

This happened to me today as well. 1 month delay. Sucks but not that bad bc, at this point, it's something nice to have but not necessary to have.

The TOTAL manufacturing line for these displays from Sony can only produce a million a year. At the absolute best that means throughout 2024 only 500,000 of these can be manufactured.

Apple is working with LG and another display manufacturer to tool up, but it’s a bleeding edge technology and it takes time to ramp up and verify QC

Im confused with the math?

Question for those whose delivery dates slipped- had you reached "Preparing to ship" phase yet?

I ask because I ordered the night of preorder day and was surprised to get a Feb 2 delivery, so I wouldn't be surprised if mine slips, but so far it has not and it's in "Preparing to ship" mode... just trying to get an idea of whether it could still slip or if it's confirmed on time at this point...

Im guessing these delays have to do with all the "bots" placing orders and Apple is giving themselves time to "investigate" the legitimate ones. Just a guess.

My card was charged yesterday and my order is supposedly in the "preparing to ship" phase (and still appears to be), but the delivery date was pushed weeks out to Feb 29-Mar 7. UPS does not have a tracking number for me (yes, I checked MyChoice), and so my order appears to be in limbo. My Apple card charge is still "pending".

I'm guessing that people with UPS tracking numbers are fine.

Still have feb 2 as delivery date but no notice on UPS. Updated my address on it today so it might not have it listed yet. Also have another UPS package that supposedly shipped today and is not listed yet.

Uh oh - do you think the dates will change back as the launch day comes closer ?

Mine has not change - UPS tracking shows delivery still at 2/2.

Backup store pick up placed today for 2/3.

I think the number of actually of units manufactured this year could be substantially higher, maybe double.

The design for the Vision Pro has been locked down for close to a year (rumor was it completed EVT in Feb 2023), and I'm sure they decided on the Sony displays well before that. Knowing the manufacturing limitations, it would be prudent to work with Sony to ramp up production in early 2023 and stockpile the part to have on hand when the main headset manufacturing and assembly starts.

For those with actual UPS tracking numbers, I would hope not.

If you have a UPS tracking number, a label should have been made and (hopefully, likely, but not guaranteed) slapped on a box. It's hard to imagine a process that generates a pile of numbers without also generating labels, but anything's possible. If the label is on a box, you should be virtually guaranteed to get it on 2/2 (barring issues like weather, traffic accidents, or other disasters).

Edit: as I posted in another thread: Reddit denizens are reporting weird status changes and, lo and behold, mine is also weird. My overall status now says, "available to ship null", and there is no longer an estimated delivery date in the order details.

Welp, on Apple it says preparing to ship, but I decided to check on UPS from reading other posts on this thread and a few minutes ago it said I don't have anything, but upon a refresh just now, it's showing a 4.7 kg package coming from China under the heading "AI", and says arriving 2/2.
