How about a Lightning charger that doesn't break after 2 months instead?
This is at least an innovation which would make sense, unlike those silly "wireless" charging pads. Who cares if it's wireless if you still have to place the phone in a certain area? Plugging a phone in does not stress me out.
Well, the S model is supposed to fix any shortcomings with the non-S model. That's why some people only get that model. I can definitely see that as a 7s secondary new feature that will address the continued relatively poor battery life with the iPhone 7 in addition to allowing people to both listen to their music while wirelessly charging. Apple has to give people a good reason to get the s-model again.
after whittling away its battery capacity to achieve thinness that NO ONE ASKED FOR,
Dear Jony Ive-
Please stop obsessing with thin iPhones. It's thin enough. For F-sake, how about giving your buyers a phone that has a bigger battery
And wireless charging would not mitigate the idiotic removal of the headphone jack, which means you can't charge your phone and listen to music .
I agree, I hate the fragile lightning connectors. They "turtle neck" and fray VERY easily for me, even though they literally never leave the outlet they're plugged into. But be prepared for the following incoming comments:
"What are you doing with your chargers that causes them to break so soon?????"
"I've had my Lightning charger for (insert years) and it's still PERFECT!"
"Don't abuse your cord and you won't have this problem."

So you would like the wireless charging removed form the Apple Watch, so you have to have a wire, and plug the end of the wire into a socket on the watch ever night?
That's what you are saying.... Yes?
I'm pretty sure you know what condescending means - the next word you need to learn is sanctimonious.
Must be treating the cables pretty rough. I've been using the same lighting cable that came with my iphone 5 to charge every new iphone and ipad and no damage yet. Can't wait for wireless charging though.
Proper wireless charging so you can use your phone whilst charging would be a boon, but I doubt whether it can be achieved. And if it can, I would worry about the health implications.
Even a contact based charger like Apple Watch is super convenient. I would love extended range charger, provided it does not significantly add charging time (about 2 hours more should be the limit for full charge).
What you need is a sender and receiver operating on the same unusual frequency go from there. It can be achieved.
First demonstrated by MIT ~10 years ago:
And THAT came after the headphone fiasco of the first iPhone. Remember how the original iPhone's headphone jack was inexplicably buried at the bottom of a hole, making it incompatible with 99 percent of the headphones out there? Again, Apple had to scrap that blunder in the next generation.
I'm pretty sure you know what condescending means - the next word you need to learn is sanctimonious.Take care of your cables?
I have a three year old lightning charger still pristine that constantly travels with me. How about you don't treat your cables like crap instead? How about a Lightning charger that doesn't break after 2 months instead?
