So get a MacBook Air then. One way or another you'll be running into issues when pursuing a thinner MacBook Pro: loss of ports, heat production, throttling, etc. Maybe they'll be able to shave a bit off the current MacBook Pro, but not much if you wanna keep the ports.Lol, not really. 14" and 16" are heavy, no way around it.
I mostly agree! I agree that the iPads are thin enough. What I'd want for iPads is to be LIGHTER without using plastic and without removing features (e.g., ultra wide camera lens which no longer exists for iPad Pro). They are thin enough. Give us more battery life.
I swear, when they run out of ideas they resort to "make it thinner".
What you - or anyone - wants is immaterial. It’s what Apple thinks is good for it.What if I don't want a thinner product.....What if I like the dimensions of the current product and want that extra space to be used for battery capacity?
Unfortunately, Apple uses battery life, RAM and storage for planned obsolescence. A device 3 to 5 years old must have a low enough battery life to make people buy a new device.Who wants this though? Just make it more power efficient and keep the same thickness so we can get more battery life.
Agreed! At this point, most Apple products are thin enough. What they need is increased battery life. What if I don't want a thinner product.....What if I like the dimensions of the current product and want that extra space to be used for battery capacity?
The M4 Macs are probably coming this fall.Hey Apple, how about some new Mac Studios? Mac Minis? iMac Pros???
They probably won't update the desktops till 2025 if Gurman is to be believed and I don't want to get a MacBook pro.The M4 Macs are probably coming this fall.
If 4 pounds is too heavy for a computer people may want to hit the weights and toughen up a bit!I got a smile reading that some people think current Macs are getting too heavy…
I keep a 2011 MBP 17” around to run old software on. (I swear it grows a little larger every week!) I remember when I got it, people couldn’t believe how thin and light it was!
My 2 cents on the iPhone: get rid of the camera bump by filling it with battery. How big of a bump will the new slim iPhones have?
People are recycling the same arguments from 20, 15, and 10 years ago.So get a MacBook Air then. One way or another you'll be running into issues when pursuing a thinner MacBook Pro: loss of ports, heat production, throttling, etc. Maybe they'll be able to shave a bit off the current MacBook Pro, but not much if you wanna keep the ports.
If the only thing you carry is a MacBook then weight is probably not an issue, but students, for example, can have several pounds of books and other things in addition to their computer. If 4 pounds is too heavy for a computer people may want to hit the weights and toughen up a bit!
let's hope they drop the HDMI port on MacBook Pro. HDMI is anything but pro.
if you're ready to concede a thunderbolt 4 port for an useless HDMI one, this shouldn't be a product made for you.
edit: after interacting with a few users, I wonder how you managed to live without HDMI port on your iPhone Pro
And it’s a decision they made, like my decision not to buy one until it’s round. The reason they are square instead of round is because round design cuts off things like reading and scrolling through text bubbles and such.
The Touch Bar generation of MacBook Pros, when compared to the prior generation, supports that argument. Chip-wise things aren't nearly as dire when it comes to the base M chips, but whatever body design they go with will also be used with the hotter running M-Max chips.People are recycling the same arguments from 20, 15, and 10 years ago.
