Taking out the jack has to be the worst decision Apple made to the iPhone to date. The Bluetooth ecosystem was not ready and now many people are either living the donglelife, are massively inconvenienced, or have to carry now two freaking sets of headphones, one BT and one jack version.

Yeah, I'm not affected by it yet, I'm still happy with my 6+ and don't plan to change it soon (I had the touch chip replaced after it developed touch disease, and I changed the battery last year just before Apple admitted to slowing phones, I noticed a considerable speedup with the new battery, so I suspected something - I used an iFixit battery and paid less than the $29 Apple charges now because I'm an iFixit reseller and already had the tools).

But I am noticing when I use the headphone port, and while it's not often these days (my headset and car are Bluetooth) I do use it a few times a week. It was a dumb move on Apple's part, that jack is a very well established standard and isn't going away anytime soon.

I don't look forward to always carrying another dongle, the dongle collection in my work computer bag is already extremely silly, there's probably 20 dongles of various sorts in there, and I haven't even gotten the USB-C/TB3 ones I need yet. I'd take the old ones out if I could, but in the last month I've needed both the DVI - VGA one and the mini-DVI - DVI one, so I really can't. I think I can get away with adding a USB-C to USB 3 and TB3 - TB2 with the other dongles I've got in there. But my phone case doesn't have room for a dongle, I'll have to get an oversized one to add Lightning - 3.5mm audio to carry all the time. Ugh.
