I had some irritating issues on my 1 month old M1 Air. Whenever I skipped in a song that was playing in YouTube, Apple Music etc. using headphones with a 3.5mm jack, I got a static noise/sound response in my headphones before it started playing sound again. On many different laptops and PC’s this problem did not occur.

I’ve then tried multiple things to fix it, including 2 clean installations of the latest MacOS. But the problem didn’t get fixed.

I sent it to Apple for repair but they did not repair anything, according to customer service it only said “No Trouble Found” after they did a clean install.

Anyone else ever had this happened, I’m 99% sure the problem is not fixed when I get back my MacBook tomorrow.

One option is to make a Genius Bar appointment so that you can demonstrate the issue live face-to-face. They can test it with you using another pair of headphones to help troubleshoot the issue.

Curious, do you have AirPods? If so, and you test it with those, does it do the same thing?
And, no matter the headphones connected to the 3.5mm jack, same issue?

It’s a 3 hour drive for me so this would be my last option if I have any 😅

No problem with AirPods Pro, only with wired headphones: a 1 year old Audio Technica and a brand new JBL one, both have the same issue only on this device. When using a DAC this particular issue disappears.
