I have noticed apps for allot of my iOS games i play,, some of my favorites like Monkey Island 1 an 2 are gone...

However they still appear under Purchased section.. and i can still download them..

While they are no longer on the store, i cannot see description (I just get constant Loading page), but i can download them still..

Would you back these up ? Since there is no way to tell which will work on iOS 10 and which will not until u try "as going by Compatibility is useless, since u just see iOS6 and above" with doesn't tell u anything specific.,i'm wondering now, weather i should just download everything just in case. instead of downloading only the ones that i think are no longer on the store, then come back and fine some other apps Appl prevented my from downloading..

Basically, get then now, while i still can ?

If you have the space for it then you should back them up. Its unlikely that they will be deleted, but you never know.

The bigger issue is when they will stop running due to a iOS update.

I back them up until use the Apple deleted apps until they stop working. I wish Apple had an App that can tell you what Mac Apps, iOS Apps, Movies, TV shows, music was deleted from the store so that you can at least know about it.
