I found this today.

https://www.tomsguide.com/us/iphone-x-iphone-se-canceled,news-27584.html

Makes me a little sad, as I really like the SE.

Apple will discontinue the iPhone SE and iPhone X this year to address "pent-up demand" for upcoming iPhones. The analysts called Apple's upcoming handsets the iPhone 9, iPhone 11, and iPhone 11 Plus.

...analysts believe that discontinuing the iPhone X and iPhone SE this year will allow the company to focus on its new iPhones

The iPhone 9 is suppose to replace the SE. I wonder if it will just be another iPhone 6 design. I much rather have the iPhone 5 design than the 6.

SE will likely continue to serve emerging markets due to the extremely low price.

Apple might limit future sales to certain countries similar to the way it continues to sell new iPhone 6 32GB in certain markets.

For most major markets, I expect the iPhone 6s to eventually replace the SE as the low-cost handset in Apple's lineup

Do you mean just the design, not internals?

While it saddens me that Apple might switch the SE(or whatever they might call it), to a iPhone 6 design, I doubt they will keep the 6s internals. The SE already has the 6s internals.

No, the iPhone SE does not have 6s internals.

The iPhone 6s would be an upgrade in several ways:
  • 3D Touch
  • Touch ID 2.0
  • FaceTime camera (5MP)
  • Qualcomm MDM9635M (300 Mbps modem)
  • 2x2 802.11ac

You are correct. I was referring to stuff like processor, RAM, which is different than the iPhone 5, or 5s in which the design came from.

I while back, I made a post about switching to the SE from a 6s Plus, and listed about everything you did when listing the difference, and what I will miss from the 6s Plus, the only one being Touch ID 2.

Your quote:

I do not expect the 6s to eventually replace the SE, as many of the internals are the same.

I might expect the new SE, whatever it might be called, to have some of the features of the iPhone 6 or 6s, that is currently missing from the SE. I wouldn't be surprised if 3D Touch was not present in the SE replacement, as there was already rumors stating that it might be missing from some of the new iPhone Models.

I hated 3D Touch, so it wouldn't bother me if it was missing.

There are no credible rumors suggesting the SE will be refreshed.

I seriously doubt Apple will introduce a new form factor or SE2 when it already has iPhone 6, 6s, 7, and 8. With Wistron given the green light to begin iPhone 6s assembly in India, it strongly suggests the 6s will be the new low-cost device.

In emerging markets, Apple continues to sell iPhone 6 32GB and slots it above iPhone SE. In other words, consumers care more about the display size rather than the processor or RAM.

The renowned analyst who suggested 3D Touch will be absent from the 6.1" iPhone is predicting those controls will be simulated by software.

Maybe....

Another possibility is that the iPhone 6s assembly in India might actually be the SE replacement as mentioned in the linked article.

Either way, I don't like it.
I've moved on, and so should you..
Move in to and from what?

iPhone X to Galaxy S9 plus . Loving the freedom . The grass really is greener on the other side.

That’s awesome! But, why then do you still hang out on iPhone message boards? Isn’t there some Galaxy S9 message board you could be on instead where you can share your enthusiasm with other like-minded individuals??

This is a random source mentioning whatever the author feels like. Don’t worry much about what’s on there.

Personally, I think SE will not be refreshed either.
