I think Apple was unsure, and maybe still is unsure, of what the demand will be for these watches. I was at an Apple Store today in a Chicago suburb and I noticed something. There were about 50-60 customers in the store looking at all kinds of products. Not one of them was looking at the watches. That could be a timing coincidence. It probably doesn't mean much. It just made made me wonder about how much interest there is.

I noticed the same thing in the Northbrook and Deer Park stores. Even on the 10th (first day watches were on display), it was easy to get a try-on without an appointment.

Perhaps once you can actually buy an Apple Watch in the store there will be more interest. They're still telling people they can't get a watch until June and that's got to be killing sales.

Opposite

I think is done exactly the opposite , what I see is the interest on this product diminishing , the hype created has quickly vanished . Something went not so well with this kind off weird launching . Nobody I know plans or wishes buying it. Time will tell how effective this roll out and subsequent popularity of the:apple:Watch might be. For now , due to the long wait and delays on getting the 2 watches that I ordered 10 minutes after launching have made me less excited about having them , plus all the comments that I have read in the forums makes me wonder if it was a good decision after all , time will tell after and when I finally get to try it.;)
