I know Apple and especially the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is donating huge amounts to researching the Wuhan virus. Has Microsoft, Inc. chipped in?

Yes, “there it is.” I don’t believe it’s virtuous for corporations who shelter money overseas to donate millions of dollars and act like it’s a big deal when they could EASILY — EASILY — donate what, a billion? Billions?

This is the equivalent of me, on my mid-5 figure salary, donating $2.40. (Apple has $245b in CASH.)

Is $10m better than $0? Sure. But it’s not enough.

How are they sheltering money overseas? When they sell a product in a foreign country (they do that a lot) they receive the money in that country. A lot of that money they keep there. You are implying they are somehow moving money into foreign countries, which is not at all the truth.

I’m sure I’m gonna be raked over the coals for this, but Apple has hundreds of billions of dollars in cash. They won’t even notice that this money is gone.

To those whom much has been given, much is expected. This isn’t much.

Omg here we go again. There is SO much wrong with this comment.

1. You speak as if this is the only thing Apple has done. Apple has donated countless dollars (and masks and other stuff) to countless efforts against this pandemic. Multiple 100’s of millions. And they’re not stopping.

2. “Much has been GIVEN”...? Lol. Apple’s shareholders, staff, and leadership built Apple with a lot of hard work and talent. Nothing was given.

3. “Much is expected”...? Apple doesn’t have to give ANYTHING. Nothing is expected.

Entitled much? Who do you think you are? How much have you given/donated?
