Do you ever check your facts before posting FUD? Apple has 36,786 employees in California. Why are they hoarding 20 million masks? That's like 543 masks per California employee and only some parts of California were affected by fire.

You know California wildfire season lasts 6-8 months. Assuming most employees work 5 day work week’s, 8 month season and change them out every day that comes to 5.9 million masks for one season. Apple also bought masks every time there is an outbreak, you know swine and bird flu. Like most IT companies in CA, they have a surplus. CA even requires companies to have N95 masks on standby if the air quality ever becomes on unhealthy for employees. FYI: CA wildfire smoke can drift across the entire state and also nearby states.

The question needs to be asked: What were they doing with 20 million masks in the first place?
If they didn't have them, but bought them all up to distribute to others, what's the point of that?
It's not like health care places can't afford masks — they can't find any.
And if they couldn't find any? How is it that Apple found/had 20 MILLION of them?

Something seems really weird about this whole thing. It doesn't sound right.
They are able to make 20 million masks a week, but what were they doing with a stockpile originally? They are used in construction, clean rooms, etc. And Apple is voluntarily giving these up to healthcare workers.

Additionally, Apple has more money than the government does and connections to companies that hospitals and the government don't have connections to or the money to use.

I think it says they are giving 20 million masks one time, 1 million face shields per week.
