Apple DVD Player = HELP, PLEASE!

Hi guys,

New guy here.

I'm having such a difficult time with my eMac.

I had a combo drive and now I upgraded to a Pioneer DVR-112D Superdrive.

But the proble is... My Apple DVD Player (4.6.5) is now asking for my movie DVD's the Region Code, which never did before. And says I can only change 5 times or the last change will be considered as the definitive one.

All my DVD's played perfectly with my old drive and never asked me for region code.

Is there anyway to set my Apple DVD Player to multi-regional?

No, it is a hardware thing. The best way to get around it is to rip all your DVDs using Mac the Ripper and then burn them onto a DVD using Toast or something.

Your old drive should have asked the same question... There are a few dodgy ways to bypass this, but nothing good. Don't worry about it and select the region that's appropriate for your location.
