Verbatim has high quality dvdrs that can be found for extremely cheap. There isn't much point to going with Apple.

Occasionally there's like a $10-20 rebate per spindle per household or something along those lines, so a spindle of 100 dvdrs is ~$15-20 with shipping.
Edit: just spotted this in my RSS reader - 200 Taiyo Yuden 8x DVD-Rs for $50!
